Washington State just across the Columbia River from Portland, Or.  I edit commercials and stuff for a major cable company.  Not naming names but it sounds like "Shmomshmast." :P

What hardware/software do you use?  I used to work for Avid once upon a time.

Right now I'm still using a Media 100 system for basic video editing.  It's getting pretty long in the tooth now but it still works and looks good and I'm proficient on it.  I do all my compositing in Adobe After Effects, which is where I do 90% of my work. 

I'm going to learn Final Cut Pro here shortly and may transition over to that.  Seems to be where everyone is going these days...

When I was there, we hired a bunch of the M100 folks as it is (was) a local company as well.  Agree in that it seems like Apple is virtually giving away final cut and (at least when I was there) it semed like that strategy was helping it eat away at Avid's market share.

I live about 5 miles from where Flight 93 crashed on 9/11 in Pa.  Lived in West Palm Beach for 7 years.  I own a Transmission Shop and an Antique Tractor Restoration Business.

I have worked for Playboy for 20yrs I scheduled all the photo shoots for the centerfold layouts I am the guy that picks out all the locations where the shoot will be done and I have to be on location, when the shoot happens..yahoo.gif

Oh I was day dreaming, sorry guys I really work for the Calif Dept of Corrections I have been a prison guard for 20 yrs.
