I know there would be a few guys here that have them.

Can you reccomend me a good one that is less than $300??

I know the IW ones are very good but the budget doesnt stretch to one of those at the moment.

:)

Thanks!!

Your best bet for a sub $300 Pam look a like would be some of these. Marina Militare, Marine Diver, Military Mark V, Alpha 1993, and even try Pam homage. You can use your search engine or the search feature on forums and see if anything comes up available. I see them all the time. Best of luck in your quest. ;)

While we are on this subject I will be seeing our friend Ron from IW this weekend, if anyone wants anything from him watches, straps, etc. let me know and I will be happy to pick them up for you, just cover the shipping and PayPal fees (if you choose to reimburse me that way).  If you want watches check out the his website and let me know by Tuesday night so I can let him know what to bring.

I've spent  A LOT of time looking over the options and reading reviews. If you have questions let me know.

Right now, for my money, the best and most affordable option is a custom from Davidsen.

Davidesenjpn@yahoo.com

Here are my two:

He is located in Hong Kong. He has limited payment options. I went with Western Union. Mine both cost $360 ea. Came with sapphire + ar crystal, display back, base ETA 6497, SS case, tight crown guard lever and crown guard, thick crown, tall cannon pinion, sumperluminova, WR30m, two "throwaway" factory straps, a so so buckle.

Great customer service, fast assembly and fast shipment. Plus many custom options.

I have plans for a 45mm rad vintage like a Kampfschwimmer with a tobacco dial, gold hands and thick plexi crystal. A 1950 is also on the radar at some point.

I bought a great one from E-bay.  Much better than most of the Marina Militaire knock-offs out there.

Here's a link: http://cgi.ebay.com/UNITAS-ETA-6497-WATCH-STEEL-44mm-SWISS-MOVEMENT_W0QQitemZ350047839385QQihZ022QQcategoryZ31387QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

I was really impressed with the one I ordered.  It was comletely sterile too.

I don't know what I did with my personal photos but I'll post a new one up later.

That seller is good. Just to warn you, I have heard that the lume can be a little on the weak side (not terrible, but not excellent.). Also, I do not believe they have any water resistence rating. However, I know you can get it pressure tested if you are worried about that. If the lume bugs you, I know someone who relumes those.

All in all, a good choice. Enjoy the watch and definitely give us your review of it.

cj...unless you see something I don't, it is not a replica, it is an homage.  I see nothing on it that states Panerai...yes, it is an "homage" as are many watches...like the ZENO Explorer, the Seiko "Day/Date", etc.  So, I don't see anything not ethical about it unless one also eschews homages...but then, how many watches other than ORSA,  ENZO (and a very few others) do you see out here that don't "borrow" designs from other watches (I give you Ocean7!!!;))

Also...I'm with Oscar here.  If we buy direct from IWI we don't incur paypal fees or have to deal with a middle man on a problem...perhaps there is some point I'm missing!:?

I agree with you Ken ..... I bought a marina military from IWI .... and I thought also that if it doesnt have the name on it that its okay ..... If it said Panarai that would make a huge difference......
