Anybody got any tips on how to fully charge my new Seiko Sportura Kinetic?? I put it in the winder overnight and that didn't do anything, so I wore it for 1 1/2 days and it ran for about 6 days. Its supposed to last 6 mths fully charged...but how do I get it there??

Kinetic watches take a while to charge. I've read that it takes 20k+ rotations of the rotor to fully charge. Seiko service says that a winder won't do much. There is such a thing as a kinetic energy supplier--a magnetic induction device that charges the battery in about three hours. Unfortunately, it has been back ordered for the past several months. Princeton Watches sell it for $170 if it is in stock.

Otherwise, the best way to charge the watch is to wear it. It will take several weeks of wearing to fully charge.

sounds like you have a problem as these are generally shipped fully charged....send it back for a replacement or refund especially if you bought it from one of these deal of the day sites as it seems they get the problem watches from my experiencehand6.gif

Ditto here! Like said, you have to wear these for a while to get them fully charged.  I stopped trying to keep mine as a grab and go watch, a few months ago...When I want to wear it, I do like with my auto/mechanical watches, I adjust the time and that's it.hand6.gif  It gives some soul to this auto-quartz!  One thing is for sure, I would never, never pay $170 to buy a charger for it, it just doesn't make sense IMHO.

I agree... I'll just treat mine like a regular automatic as well I guess.

Thanks to my fellow 3ters!! As always, you are my sounding board and first stop for all questions to do with watches!!!
