I wont start ripping them till I know what I can and cant say. All I can say is this, I just got a phone call from my watch guy saying that The watch I gave him to work on, is not a Chase Durer.
The sad thing, is YES. Its a Chase. Its just made that way. So before I go into a review, or slam them, Or start telling my story, I want to know what others wis thoughts are.
Ok. Im calmer now. Wow. I about lost my mind a bit ago.

Whoa...never heard of this type of situation beforecrap.gif.

Can you give more details like how you got the watch? AD? The Bay? When? Do you have paperwork?

Sad to hear your problem, amigo.

it was a used beater off the bay, and I really didnt pay that much for it. I had another of the same model, and it was AWESOME! or so i thought. I traded a PVD wing GMT to Hucky on here, and really missed the watch. So i been scouring hi and lo for a replacement.  (in the meantime seeing a few rumblings about Chase quality) So I found one. and the people I received it from didnt know it was as hacked as it was.  I mean HACKED. the Crown fell off when I went to change the date.  So I took it in. No sweat, But when i took the back off. wow. Ive got 15 dollar chinese watches with better movements than this allegedly "swiss made quartz" seriously. and ALL plastic movement holders. nothing holding it together except spit. Now. I may have just gotten a complete hacked one. I am going to go pick it up right now, and will be back in a hour. I do not like to ever be negative, SO i will end this with a postive before I go pick it up and and finish this.  The positive? The Battery works!!! Thumbsup3.gif

........ My watch guy, "this isnt a chase" yes it is. "no. its too cheaply made" it is though. " oh. well Ive never had one in my hands before, and they charge so much for them" yes. I am aware sir. " can you run by the hardware store to get me the allen wrench to open this thing up?"  LOL. Sure thing.
Heck, maybe someone just took out the guts and replaced them.

Ok. Fixable problem. Still low quality parts attached to a high price tag. (which means the watch is decent at resale SEE; S-Bay used.) No allen wrench needed. Just some friendly neighborhood Macgyvering from Ace Hardware.

You can call Chase-Durer anytime and speak to Marriane Chase who answers the phone many times. 1-800-544-4365

She would help you if any issue.

Exactly Oscar. I'm sorry but I'm fairly certain you got a Chase through and through. For the most part what they are hawking these days is not what it is always made out to be.crap.gif

Every Chase-Durer I have purchased has been top knotch. I have not purchased anything under $500 which may make a difference. They no longer associate with the one place they did.

I of course can only speak for myself. I do not have anything quartz that is not at least an ETA 251.262 which I think is and incredible movement for my needs.

Most I have are automatics and all say Swiss Made which I know only gives me a 51% guaranty.

I Chase-Durer was one of the last companies to use some of the non swiss movements in there much lower models.

I do not know nearly as much as many of you guys about watch standards but I think Chase is an exception with the quality I have received.

If you purchase a used watch on ebay, there is a risk involved. You aren't much safer buying new. You can strike gold or you can get a piece of crap. A shocking percentage of items sold on ebay these days are fake or counterfeit.

I can't see blaming the brand or manufacturer in this case.

Wow...harsh. I couldn't disagree more. And frankly, I'm a bit shocked by the blatant snobbery.
