Yep, same 1000M case shape as my Zenith (and many others of the era).  Can't wait to pick one up when they go on sale.  The larger lug width will be appreciated by folks on this board.  My vintage is only 18mm, which makes alternative straps hard to fit.

Given the way most micros have pre-ordered and long wait times, it's interesting that Helson has gone the opposite way - no really advance warning, but almost immediately available.

I do like this one Tony.thumbsup.gif  Another really cool piece from Peter at Helson.

I have had an itchy trigger finger for the Squale 101 atmos (released to US distributors as the Squale 2002 Professional it seems) for quite a while and this Tortuga is a dead ringer for that piece, especially given the crown location.  I actually prefer the way Helson has designed the Tortuga with that raised 'nut' bezel and custom tool to swap bezels...IMO it more closely resembles the true vintage styling of the original Squale 101 as the "new" Squale 2002 Professional (at least in the pics I've seen) has a much shallower bezel which is also simply round in design:  (like this)

Newer Squale 2002 Professional

Here's a vintage Squale 101 atmos

Also agree that it has a lot of the vintage flavor of that sweet Zenith that 'Veritas' owns.

I would say that I probably prefer the look of the vintage style acrylic bezels on the new-and-old Squale's and that Zenith.

Vintage through and through! What's not to like with the Tortuga? Well.....just a tad too small for me but that design and case is wonderful. Great piece again from Peter but I'm really posturing for the full size Gauge!!ThumbsUp02.gif
