Im not only a watchgeek, im a space/aviation nerd also. So when i recently saw this beautiful watch i was jumping up and down. Sure, its not a Speedmaster Pro. Its not as elegant, but it is a bloody fine watch to look at. Very clean dial and i love the Arabic numbers and the whole pilot styling. Yes, i would like to own one. But....There is always a but. Before sacrificing my saved up misc clock-money, a few questions for my friends at 3T. * Does anyone have experience with this particular model or the brand? * Titanium. I never owned a watch made out of this metal. I know its extremely light and strong. How scratch resistant is a titanium watch? * Is this watch a good start to take a step into a higher class? I dont care if i get negative feedback as long as the replies are honest. Im not giving up on my Speedmaster or anything like that. The Moonwatch is still my holy grail and i have a separate saving for that baby. Patrik. Attachment: B42.jpg (Downloaded 63 times)

I still own a similar model from FORTIS, the B-42 Marinemaster which uses a SS case material (with a white date wheel on the black dial version and a black date wheel on the lume dial version). It continues to be one of my favorites, and I like it especially well on the excellent ss bracelet from Fortis, but it is great on several other strap combos. It was one of the first "step up models" that I purchased when I first began my WIS journey, and the quality still does not disappoint! I can't comment on this model in Titanium, but in Stainless Steel the build quality is spot on with outstanding bezel action and feel. This model is strong on value IMO...lots of bang for the buck for sure. It is the only diver that I own that does not have a screw down crown, so that takes some getting used to...but have never had any water intrusion issues with either of the models I have. I like the SS model enough to have both the black dial and lume dial versions. I have nothing bad to say about them...very solid and well built, and at least when I picked up mine could be had at a fairly decent discount. Maybe someone with experience with the Ti version can provide some input, but the ss models are sweet IMO. (I also like the bezel teeth shown on the one you posted and mine shown here...the new B-42 Marinemasters have an exaggerated bezel that I don't much care for).

You don´t know what is long amigo… I bought a watch and it took one week to cross Norway: Who knows why!!! After this painful waiting, I had a phone call from the job... The day I should receive my very new watch, I suddenly had to travel out offshore at 5am. So I missed it by 4 hours. Then 2 weeks was the new waiting. 14 days after, when home was calling, my helicopter was canceled because of lightnings and I had to wait one more day at sea!!! Then the new plane flights to home was changed and instead of a fast ride, I got only a great tour around all the country to finally arrive yesterday night: Using all my day in f@ck´n Oslo airport... When I arrived home, I opened the box tried the watch and said to my girlfriend that I was in love... Her answer was with a smile "Maybe I should leave?". So I had to leave the watch again for a while You don´t know what is waiting...

Aviation is the only thing that i rate higher then watches. Me at my old Air Force base during an airshow celebrating its 50years. Attachment: F17_Patrik.jpg (Downloaded 37 times)

Good choice, Patrik. I don't have direct experience with Fortis but I have a couple of buddies that own them and they are ok. I heard they are accurate. Enjoy it in good health for a long time.

Well Patrik, flying is cool but I take 2 planes and a Sikorsky S92 for each travel to work: It´s ok but sometimes traveling for 10 hours mostly because I have to wait at the airports is boring. Specially at airports like Oslo: Where the shopping is limited...
