Wanted to share initial studio shots and first ad layout of the OCEAN7 LM-7 Mil-Spec "Tribute" Diver… it is, for a lack of a better term, bad ass!

No dial design is for everyone, but this one is a departure from the usual, which I believe is a good thing. :)

it looks like they took 1 design element from a half dozen different major brands and mashed it all up into this tribute to the lack of their own design ideas imho...I'm afraid to ask what it costs! dog smile.gif

OK I like the two color bezel, I am not a fan of minute counter dials in any watch but I can see the purpose on a dive watch so I would say the big orange markers at 6, 9, 12 are out of place and conflicting so continuing the minute count would be much better.

If you have to needlessly denote the 6, 9, and 12 markers then just change the lume color but stay with the minute count and have only the minute triangles lumed for the rest of the markers. This will make the dial legible in low light and allow the village idiot/diver to figure out which way is 12.

If I was designing this for me I would loose the five minute counter on the dial since the two color bezel has the five minute counter already. Keep the mimute marks and hour triangles with the hour triangles lumed and maybe use a lumed 60 for the 12 o-clock position again just to help out the vilage idiot/diver.

I like the departure from the "gadety" homage crown to a standard large crown so you've got everything right with the distro plopprof case.

It's easy to over think the dial, it happens too often but I also can accept not every watch is for me.

A few minutes with a fine black paint pen...

It's interesting how subjective dial design is for something as simple as 12 hours and 60 minutes...

Agreed...further proof that the production version of this dial should have been fixed when it was in the concept/development stage.

Even with the recognition that not every watch is for everyone, how could a dial this hideous get the nod for production? no.gif

...and the regular dial version looks pretty good, also these are in Titanium now... not sure if the tribute one is but That big PloProf case would be wearable in Ti!
