Why are there no automatics in women's watches?   :?  (Stuhrling does have a couple, but . . .)

Why are there no automatic watches a woman could wear without it being a dinner plate on her wrist?   Is it too much to want 36-40mm including crown?   :?

Why are there no affordable automatics for women?  :?

Why are any affordable automatics for women loaded with hearts and/or jewels?  Why?

I want a Trias, Poljot Buran, OG's Locman and a zillion others.  All too bloody large! :(

I find it unfair that you guys get all the luck.  not fair at all......so there!  :X  And, don't make light of it--'tain't funny McGee!  I must sit and read all about your wonderful purchases and become depressed.  You think I didn't want that Backgammon?  think again.....merde!

Thing is:  there is no answer to any of my questions, but thought it was time you became aware of my/our problem.

I'll tell you why. . . (at least in my experience)

Women are concerned with style, not function.  (again, I'm just stating the majority opinion). My wife has one auto, and she always complains that she has to wind it. There is no appreciation of 'the guts'.

So, I took in a line of Women's quartz and autos about 2 years ago. The auto's don't sell; so, they're on SALE!

(I can't get the friggin' link to paste - sorry)

Well, if one listens to eyal and others, women are going nuts over huge sizes.  I must admit no one ever mentions us wanting autos.

Of the females I know, they even think having more than one watch proves insanity.

My favorites are pure mechanicals; it's great winding one and setting the time.  I didn't get "into" watches until I happened across TT and his teaching a few years back, so I do know what you guys are going nutso about.

I also like the one skeletonized piece I have--watching all the parts doing their thing is fascinating.

Yet, there are others like myself (must be the minority)who drool over some men's watches and wish . . .  Can't your wife just give it one good shake to get it going?  Of course, then the time must be set (horrors--all that work).  Buy her a winder......LOL   Quartz is convenient, but. . .

On the other hand, I know plenty of men who are happy with their quartz pieces and find autos "too much trouble"...go figure.  :D

I was going to finish my earlier post with the following (but the link not posting was really getting me peeved):

Of all the watches sold in the WORLD last year, under 10% were NOT BATTERY operated. So yes, it's men too. I get lots of calls from people who tell me "the watch I bought from you stopped last night, I can't believe the battery is bad!". Then I have to explain that its an auto. They say "Like a Rolex?" I say "Yes".

WOW!

Well, good luck in your quest!

Marc

My wife insists on quartz.  She has zero appreciation for the mechanical marvels that infatuate us men.

I can name a few companies that sell auto's for women Stuhrling (that one you mentioned already) Croton, Invicta,Oris and a lot of others sell auto's and depending on size Trias have a few smaller watches that would fit a women so if you search a little more you can fine them but if your speaking of specific watches then your right.

My Queen has (3) auto's and (2) quartz and guess which ones she wear the most the QUARTZ and believe it or not the auto's stay on winders so, they're isnt a problem with setting them she just says that the auto's dont fit her attire most of the time plus there to nice to wear on her job so they stay in the box.

It really depends on your style if you gave a little more info as to what your really looking for then im sure we can set you in the right direction for sure.

Alway keep an eye on this site. I purchased my wife a Tissot 14k gold watch manual wind from 1970, she is very  happy with it.  Eddie had the Lady Speedbird auto but they seem to be sold out.  You can write Eddie to see if he has something available that you want, nice guy. :) I think you just missed some good deals.

Well, gentlemen:

From Mr. Ken, I expected nothing else.......wonder how he'd take it if all he could get were 26-30mm. with hearts yet!  ;)  Wrist steroids, indeed!  hmmmmpft!!

To Mr. Pacifichrono:   you have my sympathies.

To Mr. jakisbck:  slop is out as a source; I need info as to which other sources carry Trias--wish WSS did.

To Johnny P:  shall keep the link; thanks a lot

Gentlemen:  while I follow all your acquisitions, I haven't kept up with all your sources.  Too, I don't know how you manage to be constantly looking and still live your lives???  :D

I very much appreciate your words (with the exception of one of you).  Maybe, one day, I, too, shall be able to post a military-ish watch that fits my bill and build.  Thanks again.  :) :)
