Charmex Men's Swiss Military Steel Watch - Water Resistant to 12,000 Feet !In 2003, Frank M. Bürgin tackled the daunting task of developing the most water resistant mechanical diver's watch known to man, the 12,000 FEET, under the brand name of CX SWISS MILITARY WATCH™, a company founded in 1963.
It took several prototypes of different stainless steel compositions to optimize the weight/pressure resistance quotient. The crystal also needed a completely different approach than any created to date, withstanding a pressure of up to 370kg / cm2. A series of laboratory tests finally resulted in a 8mm thick domed sapphire crystal (a record on its own) with an anti-reflective coating ensuring that the dial can still be read perfectly under all conditions. This crystal will actually expand an additional mm due to the extreme pressure for which it is built, a technical feat that Charmex will not discuss beyond the fact that they achieved it.
A new approach was used for the helium relief valve, resulting in no moving parts that might get clogged. In order to develop and test the case and crystal a new pressure tank capable of building up a pressure of up to 800atm had to be built and tested from scratch.
All individual parts of the watch underwent a multitude of tests before final production. The final and successful type testing was undertaken by the renowned Oceanographic Institute of the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom (see http://www.soc.soton.ac.uk/), based on the ISO norm 6425.
There are four dial choices, blue, black , white or yellow.
Included with each purchase of this watch is massive original display packaging, C.O.S.C. Certificate, and the Guinness Book of World Records Certificate.
This is a Limited Edition, only 400 made.

Only $2199.00! At that price I should buy two. I don't think my entire watch collection is worth that much. :(

Don't crucify me but I have to say I think these verge on absurd...  Aren't they like 19mm tall?? There's no profile shot on SAH...JMHO
