Hey, let's not mention my teeth! :D My dentist needed to make a few payments on his Mercedes last week. So, I helped him out.

One thing about Atmos Clocks is they have to be level or they won't run. And even though you can adjust the feet, the clock prefers to be on as level a surface as you can provide for it. So, if you have a mantle that slopes a bit or something, it may or may not run correctly. Even if you level the darn thing. Move it to a nice level shelf to start with and she runs just great. :)

I just discovered Atmos myself ... and yeah ... they are really sweet.

Where would one get a new one? Not that I would get a new one, or anything.

Also ... they look like they are quite delicate - how could one ship one?

I am sure I couldn't either, unless used and serviced. But they are very cool.

Does anyone know of any AD's of them? I am highly curious.

the Jaeger-LeCoultre  Atmos has not been made for some time but I am sure you can find one somewhere if you have the $$$$ :D....I have read that Jaeger-LeCoultre  is planning a updated version but once again very expensive...I will try to find the article online hand6.gif

The website still advertises it - but I suppose it doesn't mean much as it doesn't say they are for sale per se.

Though I will agree about the $$$ - JLC is an aspiration for me more than anything.

a local clock shop in Richmond, a suburb of Vancouver, B.C.
was an Authorized Dealer for the JLC Atmos, back in 1991.
At the time the Atmos were selling for:

$85,000 - $130,995 CAD.

These clocks were special order items at the time.
I'm not sure if JLC even produce them anymore?

The feet on the Atmos
are adjustable but extremely complicated to work on.

Cheers,
Simon

I sent out an email to someone who claimed to be a dealer to ask typical prices and if JLC still made them. Will be interesting, though I think owning a used but maintained one might be a good option, though I am hardly in a position or hot to own one. Though I will say the engineer in me is quite fascinated by it.
