I like the look of the Fortis alot, but the Sinn has that full on tactical look. The black and white bounce off each other well with the Sinn.

I believe that either would work as well as the other, and you would be served by either equally well. One of these days you may want to look into a watch that has a reverse count down bezel on it.

On this question I am a Sinn)er .We should ideally ask a Seal, Ranger, or SWC although any former or present serviceman with land based or amphibious combat experience will do. Last edited on Mon Aug 13th, 2007 10:17 am by James Haury |

What are you saying James that with your experience, you may believe that the 7750 has the possibility of not holding up to the recoil of HEAVY arms fire?:D They need a lot of shock protection don't they.hand6.gif

My combat experience is nil.My mobilization consisted of being a member of the auxiliary security force onboard Nab little Creek. While I may have fired my weapon at the range to qualify I am not sure if I wore a watch or not .Thankfully I never had to shoot anyone or even pepper spray them although I drew down once.I served during the the Afghan war and Operation Iraqi freedom but I was stateside. What I mean is the Sinn being mostly black in my opinion would be less likely to reflect light.I would defer to the judgement of others with more experience in these matters I.E SEALS etc.I apolagize if anyone thought I was implying combat experience. P.S my edit on the last post consisted of adding an L.It did not change the content in any way except to correct the spelling. Last edited on Mon Aug 13th, 2007 10:20 am by James Haury |

My vote is for Sinn, although I think the Fortis is a better looking watch in this particular comparison. I've been very interested in the Fortis watches lately, and was especially torn between a Fortis Professional Chronograph, and the Sinn 103 St Sa Ar that I ended up buying from Onkel C. One of the reasons I went with the Sinn is that it seems that Sinn packs alot more technology into their watches (please correct me if I'm worng). I couldn't find any information about the Fortis to lead me to believe it is anything more than a good looking 7750 with a heavy build and awesome bracelet (but plain clasp)?? No anti-magnetic properties, no moisture management, no hardened surfaces, and a modest WR rating. I'm not trying to dump on Fortis, trust me, I like them alot and plan on buying one soon, but if there is someone that can enlighten me to the reason for their premium prices, please do. The Fortis website is very bland. Mark

The Fortis has a long Space Fleight History. If you do not know much about it, look it up it is a good company. They make the Fleigher and the Spacematic colections, they have experience at high stress situations. Hope this helps http://www.fortis-watch.com/start/frameset.html http://www.fortis-watch.com/en/history/frameset.html

Hi Eric, I have done quite a bit of reading about their history, and spoken with some people that absolutely love the Fortis brand. But I still haven't found any direct information regarding technology in their current line. For example, I have a Hamilton X-wind with a V7750, heavy solid bracelet, excellent dial and case detailing, bezel, display back, and can be bought for $500-700. Hamilton also has a long history, providing watches for troops etc, but this has very little influence on today's Hamilton watches besides styling and name choice. I'm trying to figure out if Fortis is riding shoulders of their history, or if they are continuing to innovate and improve? Again, not trying to degrade Fortis, just want to uderstand the brand and the products. p.s. despite my inquiry about Fortis, I'm on the cusp of buying a B-42 Marinemaster. I guess I'll find out through hands on experience.
