I have an uneven finish, which I like, but next time...if there is a next time...I'll do a couple of things differently!  I hate boiled eggs, almost any type of egg...so I have no idea how long to cook them.  Runny egg on the lugs, left stains that are not optimal...but not upsetting either.  It's an organic process...kind of cool!

Things are moving along Edward (like you, the virgin 'gold' was just a bit too gold for me).

Ideally, you don't want the egg to come in contact with the watch when you squash it in the zip-lock.  The area on the lugs that got the runny egg actually insulated the metal from the sulfer reaction that needs to take place and so it looks like that area came out a little lighter.

I made sure mine were extra-hard boiled (boiled the egg for 15 minutes once the water was truly boiling which is also supposed to produce more sulfur).

It is a bit of an experiment...

After running through a dozen eggs, and realizing that I can cook anything but...eggs...  I'm wearing this, on an Isofrane.

the blues and other tones look cool Edward...I'm still debating to egg mine.
...the Doxa will come back in a coyote tan or dark earth ceracote finish...something different is in order..below is a link for the dark earth treatement...

That Ceracote ceramic finish option is interesting Oscar!!!  First time I have seen it.

I like the fact that there are a number of color options available with the process.  Looks like an extremely tough coating.

I dunno, Oscar...I think the current patina on that Doxa looks pretty good.
But, I am a contant "modder" with cars, so I would understand!

+1 on Edward's comments regarding the 5000T Milsub Oscar...I think it looks great as is thumbsup.gif ...you could even sand the edges/corners and amplify that vintage look even more.  The thing I like most about how that Doxa looks now is the fine grain that still shows through the PVD...it does look good.

Not to say that I don't dig that Cerakote ceramic coating...that is cool stuff...
