ANKO again.
This watch is so awesome and needs more wrist time.

Chris (stew77) regarding the WRUW thread yesterday
Thanks you. The ANKO is really nice. Awesome finishing and feel. Especially the bracelet and case.
Only the issue with the misaligned chapterring was anoying.

The other Chris subtlelaugh.gif

Really nice combo with the golden hardware NATO.

Yes, genuine SEIKO style chapterring. dog smile.gif

The chapterring of mine is not 100% solved. Is still misaligned.

Thanks for the Anko info Phil...those look really great (I was hoping that you were able to get the chapter ring issue sorted out with an exchange or similar...sorry to hear that didn't get resolved) mistake.gif

AEgir for me today.

Unfortunately not Chris!
It is a bit strange and not typical for Crepas.

The chapter ring issue is impossible to solve as long as the chapter ring is aligned the case and not the dial, even the slightest difference in the dial position in the case and the chapter ring will not be in alignment all the way around the dial or in one direction or another.

This is why very few companies use minute markers on chapter rings today and the ones that do so successfully permanently fix them to the dial.

The older Seiko design of having a tab on the dial and notch in the bottom of the chapter ring was genius and the chapter ring also had a ring groove in the bottom of it so it would align on the tab and sit around the dial in perfect alignment the Marine master and Tuna's still use this today and it remains the only way that this arrangement works reliably without permanently fixing it to the dial.

This is why the new Seiko turtle divers have so many problems with alignment too and occasionally the skx and even older 7002 divers would have this issue but the older models were typically made much better and there were fewer issues.

To make matters worse the new turtle divers have four notches in the case all of them look like they were chiseled in with a blunt object but apparently they figure one of the four notches will be close enough for proper alignment...

It was pretty brave of Crepas to even attempt minute marks on a chapter ring...
