When is the last time we saw a Ferrari blow a cylinder bank? It was last night for me as I watched the GP from Suzuka!! Michael was leading, pitted, came out and BOOM!!

Alonso went on to win with Michael out of the way. The driver's championship is effectivley Alonso's now, though Michael will fight in Brazil hoping to pull out the constutors crown.

Disappointing to see Michael's last hurrah be foiled by a mechanical!!

The greatest?

Pax

Can not feel to bad for him I believe he only knocked down 80+ million this year. Not bad but he lost a lot of the drive when his mother died and he thought about it over the winter a few year back.

I didn't know his mother died. It must have devastated Ralph.

I will have to disagree on this as I don't think when considering the "whole package" Michael reaches Ayrton Senna. May be its the Teutonic ice water in his veins but he leaves me cold. I can't really find myself just "liking" the guy... I have te respect him but like??

Senna on the other hand makes me a bit meloncholy thinking of his demise, but I remember his balls out driving!!

Perhaps I am too tied to the past...

That would be illegal and you would be disqualified form the race now.

I don't see ER doc and F1 driver as being apples and apples, Eric. I have to agree with you on the ER as that can get hot and heavy fast and ice water is welcome, but for F1 I want some seat of the pants like in the clip I linked.

Senna is clearly not able to handg with Post and Schummie but damn it!!! He will fight them for track position to help Hill.

Which is one of the reasons F1 has lost some of its luster in my opinion.
