FedEx brought me a nice package today. My long awaited pre-build MKII Stingray. I am going to have to spend some time with this one... Gotta fly to some crazy kids book fair so I go nothin for ya' other than a few Q&Ds: On a strap from Eddie Platts (was considering a PRS-50)

perfect.gif  face4.gif cool10.gif hand6.gif Pax - you are da man! Gorgeous combo. This one looks like it would work with everything from the Platts strap to a thick leather, a Ploprof strap and dare I say it (I am ducking now) a nice SS? Congratulations on a lovely pickup, good sir! I look forward to your feedback on this one. Cheers - IanM

Congrats again Mark... I like those too, but would go with the bead blasted finish myself. I never have much luck with the polished finish... ;)

Thanks a lot 3T compadres!! I have to admit I slept with this on last night... haven't done that in a long while. face4.gif A couple quick observations. I think I would prefer AR on the domes sapphire. That's just a quick feeling and truth be told there hasn't been any sun so I'll have a more solid feel on that but that's my initial impression. And yes, Steve, if I were custom ordering I would have gone for the bead blasted finish. My thought is I'll keep it as nice as I can or care to and when it gets to hammered on I'll get it bead blasted. I don't see babying this watch. Lume is great though not overly impressive initially... it's after 6 hours when the watch is sill completely legible that you really appreciate the lume. Hucky- feels like a good size 42mm to me. It's almost 14mm thick and nearly 50mm from end to end so wrist presence is there. The 60 bezel also ups the feel imho. Gregger and Ian- Expect some additional pix and thoughts this weekend. And Ian, I think you are absolutely correct in stating htie watch warrants some fun with strpas. I also think a bracelet might be nice. I like bracelets!! And Ken to answer your question regarding the 50, 60, and 70 bezel I am going to copy the info directly from MKII. My explanation might be clouded by my liberal bias...;) The primary difference between the 50 and 60 is the size of the insert that they take but not the size of the bezel itself. The 50 takes a smaller insert and is designed around the first generation FF which had a much more balanced appearance. The 60 takes an insert with a larger outer diameter giving the watch the illusion of a larger bezel even though it’s the same size as the 50. The 70 is based on the later Polish Army Fifty Fathoms where the top edge of the bezel is beveled and in our case the knurling for the bezel is on the outer circumference. The above info w/pix at: http://www.mkiiwatches.com/images/stingray/sr_differences.htm I went with the 60 to give it a nice FF old school look which might appear just a touch more in your face than a 50/70. Its subtle but I do believe it adds to the watch's wrist presence. Thanks again 3T!!

PAX...thanks for that very biased explanation, but what's the difference when viewed from the right? :D You'll be glad to know that I am starting to buy into that Global Warming thing......oh, wait, that's Spring!
