I was hoping that got some attention. I'm sure you're wondering..."So what kind of watch is a 'flying dragon'?" :D. Ha ha...it's a highly anticipated Casio G Shock also known as the Riseman. Casio redesigned and re-released the Riseman, which was a Master of G originally released back around 1997. This new model number is GW-9200-1 for the US release (metric and imperial measurements). There is a Japan release with a flying squirrel on the back, and it only measures in metric. It's a fantastic watch with a ton of functions: Solar powered; atomic syncing; Altimeter; Barometer; Thermometer; 24hr Stopwatch; 24hr Countdown timer; 2 time zones visible at the same time; 5 alarms; and a memory function where you can save particular Alt/Baro/Temp occurances. It's also extremely comfortable, and is what I would call the perfect size for all that it does. Last edited on Wed Jul 9th, 2008 09:31 am by Topher1556 |

http://www.altrec.com/suunto/mens-x9mi-watch?cm_mmc=Mercent-_-NexTag-_-Suunto-_-38310-336455&mr:referralID=27f2a856-5235-11dd-990b-000423bb4e79 I think I might prefer this GPS enabled Suunto for a similarly featured tool, but I don't know a lot about either. When I hiked the Appalachian trail I wore a comfortable sleek Timex IronMan. It kept time well, had easy alarm features, and could slip under jackets and shirt sleeves without annoying snags. When I was in the Navy, I wore a yellow G-shock onboard. It was pretty clunky but I was never concerning with breaking it while doing heavy rigging work. G-Shock makes a rugged and reliable watch no doubt. I still have the Ironman, but I don't really consider it part of my watch collection. It is more part of my backpacking gear. I'll occassionally wear it sailing, especially if I plan to work on the boat. But usually I prefer to have an automatic diver on. I haven't decided what to wear for my planned eight day bike tour across NY State. I'm considering slapping a waterproof sharkskin leather on my Nivrel diver to accommodate swimming and riding. I would like to have a cool watch on for geeky egotistical reasons. Although I am concerned with the comfort of a heavy watch five hours a day in the saddle. Perhaps I'll just store the watch while I ride. All the data I need (want) is available on my cyclocomputer (with temp) and bar mounted GPS. Sorry guys, I go on.
