When I heard about this brand from Oscar and the 4 models eventually getting posted on our 3T banners, I just knew I had to get my hands on at least one, the CX-1. Today, just as I was about to open a Stella at home, the doorbell rang and this is what stopped me from opening that Stella:

Packaging all the way from Australia was ok.

Here are the contents: 3 straps in all, a hex screw tool and a handsome leather box with carbon fiber exterior with exquisite interior lining of felt. The papers such as warranty card etc...will follow. I can trust Kenneth for sure and I have no hesitations at all. He's so easy to deal with anyway.

The watch is IMPRESSIVE at 45mm. Big, substantial, hulking, heavy and with impact. Those are key factors for me. Pin cushion case rated for 1000m is gently brushed satin finished SS.

Here is another shot without the factory plastic film. Notice how the simple, industrial and refined dial elements whisper to you. The very unobstrusive and horizontal date window at 4:30 is a big plus. Date changes at 11:59pm. Dial is so easy to read.

Here are wrist shots. I have a 6.75 inch wrist and the watch wears big....just as heavy or a tad heavier than the Pam. I like that feature a whole lot in a watch...given my current lifestyle.

Shots of the crown and HEV

The simple and direct-to-the point caseback

The bezel sidewall, of course

The pre V buckle on a soft and supple 3.5mm leather strap

Then size comparisons with my DSSD. The CX-1 is bigger, thicker, heftier and heavier than the DSSD by about 10% to 15%....just as I like it. The DSSD is 43mm.

Lastly, with Stella

No lume shot because it's been overcast and rainy here and for sure not enough sunlight to charge the lume surfaces.

My overall early first impressions: 1) this 45mm timepiece immediately exceeds my expectations for a big, burly and serious diver 2) within the first 5 seconds out of the box, I fell in love with the CX-1 and might now seriously consider a CX-4 like Oscar's 3) bezel insert is of a dull material, almost slate....unique and I'm trying to get used to it 4) bezel serrations can really stand out and I can grate some cheese with it 5) 120 clear clicks on it's well-executed bezel 6) winding is silky smooth although I noted a small almost indiscernable crown stem wobble much like my 2 E*** M**H***s. 7) the HEV is polished and I see that as a good touch on detail against the satin steel case finish 8) the hex screws are sure to please and will make strap changes easy as pie.

I think Kenneth and the Crux team have scored a home run with these watches.

Congratulations on the new arrival Jeff!!!!party.gif

That CX-1 is a great looking piece!!!  thumbsup.gif

Thanks for the excellent, detailed review...these new ones from CRUX look great.  Really like the simple design elements of these as you pointed out, and that "slate-like" bezel with the raised indices looks really cool IMO.

I took a peak again at Oscar's CX-4 and found it interesting that Crux is doing both placed indices and painted indices on the dial depending on the model (and the choices seem to really jive nicely with the design of the particular model be it a CX-1, 2, 3 or 4).  Nicely done!

Enjoy it amigo!!!
