Today I received my Cayman after a long delivery torture.

1) DHL Express send my package to the wrong destination, to Italy.

2) The OEM BOR-bracelet is too short for me. Doesn't fit my wrist. I can not wear the watch on the nice BOR bracelet.

3) The wooden box which comes with the Cayman is damaged.

I am really disappointed. I think the watch is very expensive compared to other brands like Armida, Helson, Raven etc.

The better choice for express shipping is FedEx or UPS I think. Faster and more reliable.

But the watch should have been packaged better.

The strap change is very difficult
because of the conical lugs.
I had to squeeze the ZULU between the lugs.

The lume is not as bright as I had expected.

The positive thing is, the watch has a great build quality.
Case, dial, hands are really awesome.
And looks really fantastic on my wrist.

The two piece ZULU has a outstanding quality too. Very thick with a massive clasp.
One of the best ZULU I own.

We'll see how the relationship between me and the Cayman developed.

Here some fast pics. More pics to follow.

Here can you see the damaged wooden box.

The pusher is damaged too.

Nice one, Herr Philipp. I think the delivery torture and all the other challenge may be worth it. Enjoy it on good health, amigobravo.gif

Sorry to hear that Philipp, I'm sure they can source you some links. Seems like anything that spends any time in by country of nationality comes out a reckmistake.gif

The lume thing surprises me C3....no?

thankyou.gif Tony !

Really seems to be the case.

Additional links for the bracelet are sent to me.

The lume is BGW9.

The BGW9 of my Benarus Mil Diver is very bright and sustained.

Well Phil...glad to see the Cayman finally made it to you, but bummed to hear your BOR arrived with not enough links to fit your wrist (sounds like Ana has already sent additional links your way, but it would sure have been nice to have them from the start after all of your anticipation). Also bummed to see that your Cayman box and pusher were damaged during transit! crap.gif

Hopefully this rough start (with a bit of disappointment) will work it's way out and you will enjoy the Cayman overall...as you said, the Cayman looks sweet on your wrist, has sweet build quality, and the double thick Cayman 2-piece Zulu is a killer strap too!

I'm loving mine (and as you know it's been strapped to my wrist almost constantly since getting it).thumbsup.gif

Agree with you on the conical lugs...makes fitting a 1-piece Zulu a bit of a challenge for sure.

I also (initially) found the lume to be in the not-as-bright-as-expected category, but once I had a chance to get it charged under natural light, it's pretty darn good in my opinion for BGW9 and extremely well applied to give very uniform lume even though the lume markers at the 5-min marks are narrow by design.

I compared it to my Megalodon III (which uses BGW9), and while the Megalodon has MUCH more lume surface area and does glow a bit brighter than the Cayman BGW9, they are pretty close IMO. In my opinion, almost nobody does lume as well as Benarus, as their C3 is nuclear and their BGW9 is amazingly bright and well applied too. I compared it to a few other pieces that I have that I think are BGW9 from Dievas and Kazimon, and the Cayman lume is at least as good as those, if not just a bit brighter. My 2 cents anyway.

Did you order the accessory leather strap that Jacobs Strap designed for the Cayman? I had him tweak/customize mine and do it in a dark brown instead of the black that was designed for the watch.

Again, sorry to hear about the long delivery torture my friend...the Cayman looks killer on your wrist though!!! bravo.gif

Hey Chris,

thank you for your kind words my friend !

Meanwhile, I've calmed down. dog smile.gif

After a day of wearing the Cayman, I love that watch !
An absolutely stunning piece.

Love the bit of vintage flair and the classi look.

Perfect case size. Wears very comfortable.
And the watch is not too high, as others have feared.

The proportions of diameter and height are in balance.

Yesterday I already received an email from Crepas.
I get refunded the shipping costs. And I get more links for the bracelet and a new box.
The customer service seems to be good. ThumbsUp02.gif

I agree with you regarding the uniform lume. Very well applied. bravo.gif
Looks ultra sharp in the dark.

But the lume of my Mil Diver is much brighter and sustained.  The brightest BGW9 lume I have seen until now.
But I am happy with the lume on my Cayman.
No complaints at this point.

The leather strap I did not order.
I'm not a fan of leather straps.

I like the way it looks at a watch. But if I did it myself on the wrist I do not like it.
5 minutes on my wrist, and I remove the leather strap again.

I will try the Cayman on a black Iso soon.

Conclusion: Love that watch !my love.gif
Everything will be fine !

Excellent and great to hear on all fronts Phil!  I knew you would come around! dog smile.gif

I agree with you 100% on the nice proportions of this one, and the Black Isofrane will be a sweet combo for sure (I've been tempted to fit a black Iso too).

Glad to hear you are lovin' it my friend!  happy guy.gif

Sorry for your troubles; however, on the bright side, you have an outstanding looking watch! Very nice indeed!
