Just purchased second hand (2yrs old)

Had picked up the "AboutTime" Magazine ( great Mag for affordable watches) and was intrigued by a couple of makers, namely:
Glycine
Davosa
Vollmer

I seem to be drawn to the smaller less known named companies that have had influence on the market.

A guy in my office who owns a Rolex said "Vollmer - what's that?"crazy.gif'

Anyways, about the watch:
Solid stainless steel case
Front is a sapphire crystal
Display back for the 25 jewel Swiss/ETA 2824-2 automatic movement (with hack set and rapid change date)

The SuperLuminova treated dial with black hands and markers is so bright that it lights up the whole corner of the room with all lights off!

Extremely easy to read in any light!

Came with the PO's old sweat stained POS leather band, which I immediately replaced with the Original Hirsch band from LongIsland Watches.

Actually I have 3 bands I'm trying out:
Hirsch Liberty brown, black and sheep skin. All make the watch look completely different!

Can't stop wearing it, looking at it....

Brown

Black

Sheep Skin

On the wrist

Let me know what you think!

Warm welcome to 3T kerobert!  ThumbsUp02.gif

I like those smaller names that you mentioned above as well.  I have a couple Glycines that I'm very happy with and have always loved the history of the Glycine brand.  I don't have personal experience with Davosa or Vollmer, but have heard good things about those brands too (particularly Vollmer with a number of designs in their Flieger/Aviation lineup of pieces that I really like the design of...they have been churning out great German timepieces for a long time).

I know there are several 3T'ers here that have these brands.

Congrats on the "new to you" Vollmer arrival...a great looking piece for sure! thumbsup.gif  Of the straps you showed, I'm liking it best on the Brown, but I generally prefer a brown strap to black most of the time.

Enjoy it, and nice first post! bravo.gif

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and nice comments.

The PO stated that it was about 2yrs old.

It keeps perfect time and I know that most will recommend every 2-5 yrs for maintenance, but I'm erring on the side of caution and having it looked at for maintenance next week.

Guess I'll have to revert back to my Citizen ProMaster Carbon/Titanium for a few days.

Thanks again for all the comments! ThumbsUp02.gif
