This evening I wish to present to you, my current Holy Grail.
The watch I am about to share with all of you tonight was purchased by my mom for my dad, on Friday June 28, 1972.
The month and year has some significance, because it on June 17 was when the break-in at the Watergate Complex occurred that would later be known as the "Watergate Scandal."
About the watch:
It is a pie-pan Rolex ref. 1601 DateJust in silver linen dial with no lume, which makes it a rare timepiece. The serial number is 2801936, manufactured in 4th Quarter of 1971.
The corresponding paper work includes (not shown):
-Original Bill of Sale from June 28, 1972
-Original Rolex Your Rolex Oyster Booklet
-Attestation De Chronometre Officiel (COSC) Certificate
-Rolex Green Swimpruf Tag
-Rolex Red Chronometer Tag
-Outer Cardboard Box
-Inner Box (Creation Rolex Geneve)
