I was 8 when the first Star Wars came out in theaters.  I actually remembering seeing all three.  I only remember seeing only a few movies when I was a kid.  Herbie movies that came out when I was little, josey whales, close encounters of the third kind, SW and ET.  I have vague memories of going to drive ins with my parents when I was little.  One was a zombie movie shot in the 70's in Pa.  I remember it was in black and white.  It was done like a documentary.  Dont know the name, i was probably 6 or 7.  Luckily we still have a couple drive ins here.  Its been a few years since we went.  Lots of fun.  One time I would like to be 17 in the 70's and see what it was like.   My older cousins seemed to have a blast.

Some I enjoyed over the years. Earth Final Conflict, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Firefly, The X-files, Babylon 5, Lost In Space, Alien Nation, Andromeda, Quantum Leap, 'V', Logan's Run, Sliders, and all those thus far talked about here and many more. A scifi freak for sure.

I will have to look it up.

I must say, I have really enjoyed this thread. A lot of GREAT shows and movies have been brought up. I've been a SciFi/Fantasy geek since junior high and still love to read and watch these type of shows. Thanks for bringing up good memories guys. Oh yeah, that includes the Drive in theater too. We still have one in Tulsa, and if I'm not mistaken, it's a registered historical landmark. It's on old Route 66.

Yea very enjoyable thread. I did not see my first TV till I was 6 years old. My birth mother was very poor and my grandparents did not have a TV either. I remember listing to the radio. "The Shadow Knows" :D

But some of the first show besides cartoons were scifi stuff and I was hooked.

Cool!  One of these days I want to take a road trip on old Route 66.  Just want to take my time and if I see something interesting I want to stop. If it takes a long time to get it done then oh well.  The movie "Cars" really got me yearning to do this. Just one way to get back to "The good ole days".

Skip, you have touched on another of my favorites.. old time radio.  I love the shadow.  I have a few tapes of someof the old shows.  I have a little am transmitter that that I play them through so I can pick them up on my antique radios.

The cartoons too,  When I was little Johnny Quest, The Hurculoids, Space Ghost, and then even though it wasnt a cartoon, Land of the Lost.  Remember that with the Sleestacks?  Cartoons today are lousy compared to the old ones imo. Wow, this is bringing back ALOT of memories.

Scottran I can't believe you said the Herculoids!  What an awesome cartoon!  Yeah, I watched Spaceghost, and Johnny Quest, but I loved the Herculoids!  hahahahah!  Do you guys by chance remember Ultraman or Jonny Sako and his flying robot?  Those and the Spiderman and Iron man cartoons were my favorite.  And I know you guys wrote about it a while back but Yes I had the evil knevil motorcycle that you put in the launcher.  My brother and I also had the rocket car one and we would re-enact the snake river jump down my basement stairs!  Good Times!party.gif
