Some of you may remember I lost my Border Collie Brandy back on feb1.  I had her 11.5 years.  She was my best friend, we did everything together and I have been a little lost without her.  The pain got less each passing day but there isnt a day that I dont think about her.
Well, tomorrow I go to look at a 9 week old female Border.  If all goes well I may be bringing her home.  I cant believe that I am going to put myself through the pain again but the years of companionship tip the scales.   If I get her I will be sure to post pics tomorrow eve.

Sounds great. Hope you find that one that also pics you. Something I have come to do over the years is let my pets pic me. All 4 cats i have did that sort of. I only bring them home if they come to me when i walk away. many don't and they did. :)

Take some pics of your new baby. Would love to see the new love of your life. ;)

Scott, Good Luck! I, like others here, understand what the companionship of a pet brings. I recently found out that my Miniature Pinscher got out of the yard and hasn't been seen since. Apparently it happened several months ago, but my family didn't have the heart to tell me. I'd had him since '98 or '99. He was my best friend and I will always miss him. His companionship helped keep me sane through some very tough times in my life. I hope you find another friend that enriches your life like Brandy did. Good Luck Scott and I hope we hear good news.

Hey scottran - I hear ya.

My flat-coated retriever lasted through a marriage, three girlfriends, four house moves and lived to be one month short of 16 years. For all that time, I was never just "Ian" - I was always "Ian and his dog" :)

You CAN live without pets, but why would you choose to do that? If you are a dog guy, and the hole in yer heart means that you want a new best buddy - then I say go for it.

Your avatar of Brandy shows a dog that I reckon would have had a quick wit, attentive eyes and that sure has a look of "I trust you and I am your buddy" all over her face. If you can recapture that and gain a new companion - I hope YOUR life becomes filled with more happiness, friendship and the unconmditional love and trust that only a good dog can provide.

Good luck - and you be sure to let us see photos if you end up finding your missing half. I can promise you we understand where you are coming from.

Cheers good sir! IanMThumbsUp02.gif

Very true.  I feel ya brother... I lost my best friend last summer and it's still painful.   Since then, we've moved and can't have another buddy for now.  But as soon as possible I'll be looking!

Good luck!  I hope a new companion finds you!

Good luck today, Scott. I don't even have to tell you, but make sure you're not just despearate for a dog and you find YOUR dog.

You know I can relate...

I know the pain...I lost one a few years back, another is on her last legs and my pup that I rescued minutes before being put down back back in November of '95 is now 13.  It's a terrible pain to go through, but you need to look at all the tears of sheer love and companionship!

I'm a dog kinda guy...and with dogs, you always know if they're the one!
