We made it to 7 below last night.  It is nice and warm in my house at 75*.  As long as I am dress for it, the cold doesnt bother me.. Its 12* out right now and I have to cut some firewood today.  If I cut up 15 trees, that will last me a week or so.  I have a pair of the arctic carharts that I wear outside that keeps me nice and warm.  After cutting all that wood I will be sweating.  The coveralls work great.

Looks like that cold spell dipped rather low into the states. My parents are in North Alabama and dad said it was 9 degrees there this morning. :?

Sitting right at 30 here but the fog has cleared and the sun is out so may get to the 40's here today. :)

It is sunny with blue skies and 50 here right now. So nice to see this weather I put my shoes on and walked around the block before lunch. Saw a few folks working in their yards already.

Well - I suppose it is only fair to be even-handed. I complained about the 43 degree C day we had here recently, and the weather has now calmed down a bit to 30 to 35 degrees C. With a bit of airconditioning - we can all handle that. I feel for you guys and gals in the cold, I really do. But the older I get, the less I want a suntan. Put me in cooler (not your kinda cold!!) weather anyday, I say.

26th Jan is Australia Day - we have a fireworks event on the mighty Swan RIver here in Perth, with the fireworks synched to music. Hundreds of thousands of people will be zeroing in on some prime riverside parks between about 8.00 and 9.00pm - it is a heck of a fireworks show. People sit alongside the riverbanks and picnic all day and into the night. The next day of course, there is an army of people to "clean up". mistake.gif

Summer is a great time of year if you can enjoy it - but then again, every season has its good points. I remember one fall in Houston when I was walking down a residential street just off Westheimer, and the whole street was a canopy of trees with their leaves in fall colours - a winter in Paris with a favourite gal, and spring in the UK - all bring back terrific memories. I guess that all we can do is take advantage of what is dished out and keep on keeping on.

Stay safe and well you freezing 3Ters - it never lasts forever.

Have a good day! IanM hand6.gif

It was low 80s again today and I REALLY felt it.  The AC in my office building went out today and my office, which has two walls of glass facing the afternoon sun, got sweltering.  When the inside temp reached 88 I had to pull the plug and went home to work.

Mid 20's today, I didn't even wear a coat over my suit jacket. Whooohoo. Been decent around here last few days, had a blast sledding on Monday w/ friends and a dozen kids. Cool enough not to overheat, not cold enough to prevent standing at the top of the hill and chatting w/ fellow parents.

Supposed to be another arctic chill headed here, but not nearly as bad as last weeks (thank goodness!). Only below 0 at night. At least the worst of the cold should be behind us now. Looking forward to a couple of months in the teens, 20's, and occasional above freezing!

Then on to my 6 weeks of summer (thanks Pax!).party.gif

Dear Mr. Sled,

You're dreaming if you really believe this:

At least the worst of the cold should be behind us now. Looking forward to a couple of months in the teens, 20's, and occasional above freezing!

Winter's not even half over and you think the worst is behind us????   Well, of course, I hope you're right, but, frankly, I very much doubt it. :(
