Once a year for three days in August this nice Sicilian guy becomes Irish...my wife and I have been involved in the festival for almost 10 years on the entertainment hospitality committee....it's a great community event, raises a bunch of money for local charities and is an all around good time.

We are expecting over 100,000 people this year for the 2 1/2 day festival making us the largest Irish Festival in the US.

So if you are close by you owe it to yourself to check it out, GREAT Irish music from traditional to Celtic rock, Irish cultural events, one of the largest Irish Dance competitions in the world, Celtic sporting events and plenty of adult libations.

Acts come from all over the US and Ireland to play at our festival...a few of the big acts playing this year are Gaelic Storm (if you saw Titanic, they were the band playing at the party in the lower decks), Street Dogs, one of the best Celtic Rock Bands in the world, and Scythian, one of the top Celtic bands in the US.

So if you are in the area, stop by, you will not be disappointed....here is a link to a video about the festival.

Sounds like a great time!yourock.gif Nick, I'm wondering if you have ever heard of some friend's Celtic band called "Four Shillings Short" http://www.art.net/~4ss/index.html

They would be a perfect match for this festival.

Have not heard of them Mark, but we are always looking for new acts....the entertainment committee will start taking applications after 9/1, (we all get a couple weeks off before starting the planning for next year) send them to this link if they are interested.

Thanks for the invite Nick, it looks like it would be an absolutely wonderful time!  I'm not up to traveling just yet (Disabled Vet, too many recent surgeries) but maybe in the future.  I hope you're able to post some pictures from the Dublin Irish Festival, cheers
