It's been a long time since I've heard the song Melissa, through
the speaker of a 1973 Ford Maverick Sedan,in late 1975.
Like most things from my fondest childhood memories,it
was a rainy Wednesday night and my mom had to do some shopping.
This song played out on the car's radio,as I sat in the front seat as we
drove home.

As I am typing this post, I have a CD loaded onto the Windows Media Player...
man, the sound is so much clearer as though it was just recorded.
It's a shame that music such as this aren't being made anymore.

Thank you Gregg Allman, the late Duane Allman, the late Berry Oakley,
Butch Trucks,Jai Johanny Johnson and Dickie Betts for 35 years of happiness.

Cheers,
Simon

I was never a big Allman Bros. fan; but a few years ago I caught one of their shows. It was one of the best live performances I've ever heard. ThumbsUp02.gif

The Allman Brothers were one of my favorites back in the 70's the same southern rock sounds as other bands like Lynard Skynard woohoo.gif would like to say I remember the great times I had at their concerts I attended  mini me.gif but there's a lot of the 70's that is just a big blur crap.gif

My iPod has about 25,000 songs and I am sure I have the Allman brothers in there. Reminds me a lot of my high school dayssubtlelaugh.gif when I had shoulder length hair and bell bottom jeans.crap.gif
