Do you ever notice how life has a way of taking over? I have. As many of you know, I'm married and have a little boy. I also work full time as an Electrician and serve part-time in the Army National Guard. All these things have kept me relatively engaged and busy the last couple years since returning from Iraq. But i've noticed over the last several months that these thing have been taking up more and more of my personal time. Especially my little boy. He's growing like a weed and showing more intelligence by the day. He celebrated his second birthday today and I'm really starting to notice how as he's getting older, we are constantly working around being engaged with him to get things done like cook dinner, do laundry, take a shower and clean house. And now with my wife working 3+ days a week and even bringing work home sometimes, well.... it leaves little time for us. Either alone or together. I bring all this up because I've enjoyed the warm and friendly support of you all over the last 2-3yrs and have made many friends here and I'm sure I'll make many more. I just want everybody to know that I'm still around and haven't forgotten this place. I just have so very little time to log in and participate. I don't foresee it getting better anytime soon as we are starting to gear up for another deployment at the end of the year. Afghanistan this time. I'll keep in touch as best I can. Cheers....... Jeffrey.

Strongs, brother!  Keep going about life the way you know best.  Instincts are inevitably correct.  Ride this cycle.  It will turn in your favour soon.
Above all, enjoy your son at that age.  They grow up far too soon, and there's no turning the clock back...

So true. It seems hard to scrape out time for ourselves. There is nothing more important that raising your child and having a good family life. Keep on keeping on and remember wherever you end up you always have a crew at 3T!

Enjoy your little boy while you can, Jeffrey. When he hits his teens, it will be a different story.

Just good to see ya check in from time to time Jeff. The real world and family must come first. I bet your having a blast with your son. That is very good. I did not spen allot of time with my dad as a boy. He was a work-aholic. Enjoy it.

Thanks everyone for the warm replies. Just so there's no misunderstanding..... I absolutely agree with everyone that my family comes first. I just wanted everyone to know why I hadn't been around much and that I miss the interaction with the 3T crew. ThumbsUp02.gif

My son is 10 months old and myself and my wife have to work around him. Not hoovering though as that has to wait until weekends as by time I get home he is winding down for a sleep. I had a similar conversation with my dad and he told me "no matter how hard it gets or difficult it seems you will always manage" which is true I have found, I still find time here and there for stuff to be done etc and he also said "you miss the time you had but when he grows up you will appreciate the time you get back much more" Also at the end of the day you can point and laugh when your kids go though it all, you can cuddle your grand children one day in the distant future but the advantage is you can give them back when your done and have a great nights sleep!!
Not sure if it helps at all but it made me feel better.
