Sorry guys, soccer is a sport I can't get into crap.gif

Run down the field, kick the ball, miss...Run down the field, kick the ball, miss...Run down the field, kick the ball, miss...Run down the field, kick the ball, miss...Run down the field, kick the ball, miss...

If they eliminated the goalie in soccer it would be a much better game

ahh football is something that takes time to get into.
Did you like your first beer?
England are a great side but just lazy, can be sloppy.
anyway going to hear nothing but that over the world cup period.
Need to learn the off side rule and how they use it in tactics and set plays, corners etc. All it takes is to watch 1 good game and that it your interest grows. I am not mad on football but I saw a game that inspired me, its not so bad.
As for the goalie if a player of his own team passes the ball back he cant pick it up and if he gets hold of the ball with his hands any other way he cannot leave the goal box marked on the pitch. If his own team kicks the ball or deflects the ball behind the end line he is on then they get to kick it in from a corner and that gives them an advantage, players often kick the ball to hit the defenders to get this.
Off side is if you pass the ball to a person behind the last line of defence of the opposing team. It stops players "goal hanging". If all the defenders come to the centre of the pitch and the other player runs right up to the goal this is ok until some passes the ball to him,
Lots of rules...sorry I am going on a bit now....!!

Yea football or soccer is a game of precision. These days most of the big teams are so well equipped tactically, its harder than u think to even score 1 goal. Add that to the high stakes attached, the team that leads  will probably change to a more defensive formation to hold that win rather than pushing forward. Gone r the days when u see 4-5 goals in a final. Anti Football perhaps, but u do wat u must to win! ThumbsUp02.gif

it would take an entire page to try and explain this highly complicated game to Americans and just the fact that scoring a Goal is not only tough but can take a team to a championship if managed correctly as Kenneth said is a testament to all the players and coaches...the game is a game of finesse' and strategy but most of all stamina...players are highly trained and have superior athletic ability to help them in playing 45mins. a half without many substitutions in a game that is non stop...the rules are many and knowing them is crucial in coordinating your every move...
..anyways the U.S.A won 3-1 over  Australia and was there 1st ever win against them and that was without 2 key players that are injured....I hope this is a sign of where the U.S will stand in World Cup play when they meet England in the 1st game....GO U.S.A!!!!
