The 30mph winds for the past 24hrs. has caused havoc in re the snow.

I can't even get out on my porch
I can't get from the house to the garage--it's over 4 feet high in drifts
The entire drive is beyond words in waving drifts

I can do nothing
I don't even know where to get any help which I need for the first time in my life.
A snowblower won't work
I really need a plow but the drive may be too narrow for one--which makes no dif. because I don't have one.

This is a first in all the year's I've been around/here......geez
I honest-to-God don't have a clue what to do.
Guess I'm stuck until spring thaw

A snowblower should work, even on drifts. Just keep cutting new swaths. Will probably take a while, but it's easier than shoveling everything. Just remember to take it easy, and dress in layers. Don't want to sound condencending (?), just an experience I'm familiary with up here in the great white north coyote2.gif

As far as help goes, I think you're out of luck. Most everybody w/ a plow probably has a 12 hour waiting list at this point. You're best bet is probably a high school kid w/ more time than money, pay him to take care of it for you smile8.gif

Good luck, hope it all works out for you. Sounds miserable, that's for sure!

Don't have a snowblower.......don't know where to find a kid (which is usually a blessing)..........think it would take 2 or 3 of them.

I'm used to doing the shoveling and enjoy it, but this is beyond me.  You're right about the waiting list, but not sure who to call anyhow.  Think I'll off myself.

Look in the Yellow Pages, call your local gas station, call  a towing company, call and join AAA.....plows are available!  Usually, if, one doesn't have it they can refer you to whomever does!

AAA doesn't do snow removal.....I called them.

The plowing outfits won't do it because the drive isn't wide enough for their equipment.

Gas stations don't do air in tires let alone this.

I'm screwed.

Don't know if this helps, but alot of the smaller construction companies and landscaping companies do snow removal in the winter time, as they are typically idle anyways. Don't know if that's the case where you are, but it might be worth a shot. Most of the plows that mount to pickups are small enough to fit on any driveway, as they are not even as wide as a pickup.
