CompUSA announced today that it is closing 126 of its stores. So, be on the lookout for computer and electronics bargains if a store is closing in your area.

Every time I go to one of there stores, I end up leaving pissed off about there stupid prices. The desktop thats advertised for 699.00 ends up being after 600.00 in mail-in rebates that take 3 months to get. So you have to put up 1300.00 on the spot to get money back later. I hope they all crash and burn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine's on the list, but really, CompUSA (imho) just sucks......coyote2.gif.......they advertise leaders and then bait and switch you.  Give me Circuit City or Best Buy over them, but mostly I use http://www.newegg.com!  Can't beat the prices or service!

Thanks for the list. Looks like they are closing their stores here in Phoenix/Scottsdale. I did get the occasional bargain there, but mostly I agree with all of you. I can remember standing in the Mac area once jumping up and down, waving my hands and not one person came over to help.

That was the kind of service they were known for, for quite a long time. Recently, it has improved. But, the prices on their leader PC's are full of rebates and even tied into mobile phone contracts in some cases. Jeeze!

I've had some bad experiences with tigerdirect's customer service....so I stick to http://www.newegg.com or http://www.zipzoomfly.com.

They are closing their main stores in the San Diego area as well.  A friend of mine who used to work there called his buddies still working there, .....right now the prices are only at the 10% off level, but give it another week, and you will start to see the discounts increase as their close date approuches.   Looking to get some new 19 inch monitors here!    :D

Any inventory thats any good will be distributed to other stores. No discounts. 10% is chump change.

Not necessarily, that was my thought too in moving invneotry to remaing stores, but think about it, with that many stores closing and only a few remaining open they can't move it all to those remaining locations.

My co worker who still has connections with his friends say CompUSA said the deals should be increasing as the close out day approuches.  Yeah 10% right now is nothing, but that will change soon.

:)
