I got this new Seiko because it reminds me so much of the Seiko Black Monster but it is just a finer, smoother "Lexus Edition". I liked the polished surfaces a whole lot and with the simple bezel, I think I can transform this watch a little bit more. The dial is also very simple with clear and legible numbers. I posted this a few days ago though.

Here's another look.

and another:

and another (the black dial turns to midnight blue at an angle):

Eventually, I plan to change the original black dial into either this red dial:

or this white dial (watch shown below is different though):

or even this black dial (again, watch shown is different):

I also plan to change straps and add a strap compass as shown below:

and below:

I found these original 7S26 dials brand new and dirt cheap. The compass I also found in the same store. I snapped it up because it reminded me of the fad and fashion in watches a long, long time ago. I also saw hundreds of brand new replacement hour, minute and second hands but none of them took my fancy.

So I guess I'll be experimenting on the best combinations possible with this little cache of selected Seikos:

Hope you like the post. I'll share pix of the transformed editions as soon as I can.:)

I love the watch!! Like it better than the
Monster too. I think the last black dial with a touch a red is a winner!
Great post. Have a good week end playing with your seiko toys;)

Like the look of the red dial and the black with orange lettering.cool10.gif

You can also change the watch from 100M to 200M just by changing the dial.face4.gif

Like the bezel on the white faced watch the best, have fun with your transformations and look forward to the pics.hand6.gif

Now I understand... ( referring to my post on your new arrival). You are going to make this baby massive by having the compass strap!toon1.gif

Nice variety of dials and I'm also amazed ou can change the WR by swapping dials.;)

Thanks, Graham and Mark. Right you are, Graham....this is like a puzzle to me.

Mark, yes, it' so easy to change WR through the dials but a peek at the caseback reveals it all. 100m is glass and 200m is steelsubtlelaugh.gif.

The watchguy I am talking to can even erase the Seiko name, put my daughter's name in its place and stick Svarovski crystals on the indeces. Of course, the lume flies away but maybe it will be unique watch. So Graham is really right. I'd rather battle blackbelt Sudoku puzzles than figure this one out.

I'll soon post the watch I got for my daughter some time back ---- that will be the Seiko with Svarovskissubtlelaugh.gif

Looks like a lot of fun to come.  So many possibilities to go with...it will be interesting to see what you go for, post pics when it's done.   I would be curious to see the red dial with black hands set, I think that would be very interesting and not too common... Have fun with your project BRP!ThumbsUp02.gif

BRP ...

Love the Seikos!! They certainly are for watches what Hondas are for carsyourock.gif..

I like the look of the Seiko 5 you just bought, I think the black dial is muuuch better than the original and bead blasting the case would make it aweeesomeee!!

Enjo your modding ;) ... Please do post pics once you decide what to do with them..hand6.gif

ibme61, thanks! This Seiko is the SNZF03K1. Made most likely in Malaysia. It houses the 7S36B movement and uses 23 jewels. It's 44mm in diameter, 13.5mm tall and has 22mm lug widths. Thanks for liking it. Apologies for the late reply. I may have missed your query over the holidays:)
