Well, here's one of my latest arrivals: a leather strap from Gunnystraps. It's called the LE CUIR NOIR CRAQUE strapee. Roughly 5mm thick and 135mm x 85mm x 22mm, this supple, vintage-looking strap went straight to my Darth Tuna. It's on the gray and distressed side and I thought this would work out well with the totally black look of the Prospex 1000m.

This is a design I worked out with Peter of Gunnystraps and I liked the small intermediate box stitching, as shown below.

and the same style of stitching on the tailend side

The strap is very well-made and is in a very fine finish. I might order one more but this time with big, fat monster stitches.

When I received my Darthtuna some time back, it seemed so ordinary and plain with its black stealth look and black rubber strap. Looked kinda cheap and very plain. To me, I thought the watch deserved a little bit more....after all I'm not a diver at all and this watch would serve me almost daily. I searched far and wide and ended up going to Paneristi suppliers. Thus the transaction with Peter, another Paneristi. Peter also added the PVD buckle at my request for an all-in, coupled deal. Great guy to deal with.

Took a month to get it done because of the volume of orders at Peter's side but the wait was worth it.

Hope you like it.yahoo.gif

Jeff...saw this in the daily post section first and then followed over here.

That new Gunny strap is an absolutely PERFECT color match for your Darth Tuna!!! thumbsup.gif  ...and great job with the custom stitch box and overall pattern on this one...also love those sinister black stained edges...that Black and Grey Vintage plays very nicely with this one.  A fantastic and killer looking combination indeed.

Would like to hear more regarding if you like the watch sitting up higher on the wrist do to the attachment point deep under the case on these Tuna's.

Looks really, really great from here though!!!wowzer.gif

Thanks for all the kind words about the strap and combo Phil, Chris, Nic, Trent and Mark.ThumbsUp02.gif

Chris, yes, it really sits high on the wrist and somehow I really like it that high because presentation of the stealth profile seems to improve lots. For those mulling a purchase of the DarthTuna, I can only advise you to get a replacement strap from the ho hum original rubber strap and PVD'd buckle and keeper. Of course, if you really dive and work in the water, keep the rubber on.

Mark, it's nighttime where I am now but I promise to give you a wrist shot tomorrow when the light will have a better effect on the gray leather.

Phil, thanks for really noting the vintage look. That was exactly my objective.

I'm getting another one from Peter of Gunnystraps but this time, I will ask for monster stitches and possibly another style of stitching. This strap is 135 x 85, longer than my usual strap because the keepers are fixed and I anticipated the stubborn leather wouldn't bend into the keeper. I was wrong. Leather is so supple.

Thanks again for looking and for the kind words.happy guy.gif

Hi Mark. As promised, here are a few wrist shots. You are right. The watch rides high but I think the ride is higher on the more rigid original Seiko rubber. Here are shots taken just before I rushed to work this morning:

I guess this is a better perspective of the "wrist lift".
