I've always liked hornback straps but never really had a watch that's fit for one until now.  I saw a nice one from another forum and snagged it for my PAM312.  I thought it's a good looking combo and am thinking about picking up a good pig buckle for it.  For such a monstrous strap it feels very good on the wrist.

A few quick shots:

That looks fantastic. I've always wanted a pair of custom hornback boots, but I just can't stomach to spend that much money.

On one side of the scale there are fake hornbacks.

At the other end of the galaxy there is THIS absolute cracker!

Double ridged hornbacks are not cheap - but this example is the reason why. Great look, color, fit, combo.

Wild!

Enjoy, good sir!

Ian

That's a killer, GX. 5mm thick? Looks like a 24mm by 24mm to me. Nice touch. It looks like it can really take lots of punishment.  I agree that a nice pig buckle would blend well with that rig. I'd go polished pig, of course.

I have an order from a leatherguy here in Asia for just the skin witrh sharp, pronounced horns or ridges. I was told it only comes from the tail of baby crocs...hard to find but worth the bucks. If I get it, off to the "strapsmith" it goes.anodie.gif

Yes, it's 24/24mm and about 5mm thick.  The leather backing used is super soft so the strap is pretty pliable despite those big horns.  This one was ready made but when I saw it I knew I had to get it for the 312.  I was just going to mount it to check it out and switch back to what I already had on the watch (which itself was very recently acquired for this watch), but I'm liking it so much I've kept it on the watch since receiving it.my love.gif

I was already very much into watch straps before, but owning a Panerai seems to be taking it to another level...mistake.gif

GX, when you strap on a shiny pig on that killer combo of yours, you'd have gone full circle. Congrats!thumbsup.gif

Wow GX!!!....Now THAT is one gorgeous hornback strap.

The implementation of this one is so perfect...love the double horns positioning, the color, and the dark burnished edges on this strap...so sweet!!!thumbsup.gif  That strap oozes quality...

Congrats and enjoy!

Well, I went for a pig buckle by Kain Heritage.  I installed the bad boy on the hornback and took a few pics.  It is a HUGE buckle but kind of fitting for the hornback.  It also doesn't seem to interfere with my wrist, so it's all good.  I like it!
