Glad it worked William!!...The brute force method I used to bend my bars before definitely resulted in a slightly yielded area of the metal along the springbar which in the long term could be subject to failure of the springbar.

I ended up ordering some "factory bent" springbars from panatime...haven't had a chance to install them yet, but they should do the trick too.thumbsup.gif

Chris if you want to see the strap send me your address by PM and I'll send mine your way. I'm not going to bend springbars and go through all these hijinks so you are welcome to it.

I am however seriously considering getting the real thing from Ofrei.

Ofrei does still show them on sale, and if you already have one of the ebay straps you won't need to buy a buckle!

there is no enabling going on here, this is not the strap you are looking for...

Paxman was kind enough to send one of the eBay straps my way.
It is impossibly tight on the Seamaster! With regular cheap springbars I did manage to force it on by pushing the rubber strap twords the case once I had both ends of the springbar between the lugs but it's a really tight fit!

The eBay straps are made like the Planet Ocean rubber so I am wondering if these straps will fit right on the Planet Ocean???

Glad you could work the strap on, OC. I noted the eBay seller's description specifies PO... I must've looked right through it.homerthinks.gif

And William congrats on going for the OEM. I'm gonna stick with my cheap spongy stretch silicon since it's a perfect fit, super comfy, served me well this Summer and the 2254.50 is going back on the bracelet with the change of seasons.

Chris - Thanks for the extra info regarding the differences between the Ebay strap and the one you got direct from Ofrei.

It was my understanding that the Planet Ocean rubber had "Seamaster Planet Ocean"  molded into the inner part of the strap while the non-PO straps simply have "Seamaster" molded into the strap.

When you say the ebay strap is made like the Planet Ocean Rubber, do you mean the "look, feel, stiffness" of the rubber or something else?

Would you say that the Ebay rubber version is stiffer/firmer than the version you got from Ofrei?

Thanks again...
