The eBay strap is just slightly harder than the genuine one.
The finish on the genuine is better too when you can look at it with a macro lens!

Even though the eBay strap says seamaster on the back of it it is still the PO design...
The differences between the PO rubber and Seamaster rubber in design are in the access notch for the springbar tool it's easier to show you than explain:

Well...for cryin' out LOUD...@#*&!!!!

If it helps at all...I am mad with you William!!!!mad.gifcrap.gif

Now you have me really curious, as I was considering the ebay strap to try on the Great White which should be the same case as yours except with the white dial.

Although like Mark...as we are heading into the winter months, I'm expecting mine will stay on the ss bracelets while the snow and colder weather flies.

...they do sell Mark's extra soft silicone type straps on the Bay too...

I wish I had a clue as to y it's not fitting .The only thing I can think of is since mine is the GMT version that maybe its a different strap thats needed & maybe the lugs r a tiny bit different.I even purchased the springbars ,cuz I lost the 1 that went to ths S/S bracelet & they didnt work as well, so now my new OMEGA is just sitting their......PERPLEXED is the wordmad.gifmad.gifmad.gifmad.gifmad.gif

for the record, the Ofrei strap ome-98000085 fit my great white 2538.20

The 2234.50 gmt uses a 168.1613 case number I believe and something about it is different as none of the cool deployment straps at Ofrei for your case cross reference to any of the common 175.05xx cases that the 98000085 strap fits.
I think that means you can get the two other style deployment straps for yours but not this style and we can only get this style for ours...

It took me until now to notice the different straps for the different case numbers!

If you go back to Ofrei and look for rubber straps that will fit the 168.1613 case I think you will find you suddenly have bracelets and straps that fit! You will still have to get a buckle that will fit your straps but a nice generic one might fit the omega strap once you know what the size is...

Thanks Chris!...you absolutely rock...you rock.gif Thanks for the additional information.  I will just continue to use the ones I got off the Bay combined with the factory bent springbars that I ordered.

I had not realized that my 2538.20 'Great White' had a different case geometry than the 2234.50 gmt...very interesting indeed!

With that in mind William...unknown to me, you have been up against a different case to spring bar hole geometry all along .... @%&* !   Sorry for that! crap.gif

I'm glad I sat pat... and sent Chris the strap so we could get those side by side shots. Those spoke volumes imho!

William, that's a pittance for a baller like you!mini me.gif Take it to your watch guy and leave while he mounts the strap.
