I had the opportunity to pick up a few Omega Seamaster Pro rubber straps for my 2254.50 (and for the 2538.20 great white) as an alternative to the excellent Speedy ss bracelet that comes on these.

I'm really happy with the way these wear on the Seamasters, and IMO gives a very different (but great) look and feel versus the ss bracelet.  The straps are very high in quality and detail, and due to the very tight tolerancing of these (including some kind of impregnated, high durometer bumper between the springbar hole and where the curved strap end interfaces to the watch case), was quite possibly the most difficult strap change I have ever encountered crap.gif.  In the end, I even had to install a very carefully and slightly bent spring bar to get the spring bar to engage the holes on both sides...doh!!!...don't know if any others have encountered similar.

For clarification (since there seems to be alot of confusion out there because Omega also makes a 20mm lug width strap for the Planet Ocean with different spring bar hole to case depth), this is Omega part number OME-98000085 and has "Seamaster" inscribed on the inner part of the strap.  My understanding is that the one for the Planet Ocean actually has "Planet Ocean" inscribed on the inside of the strap.

Anyway...very happy with the end result and the strap fits the case like an absolute GLOVE (with some difficulty on the install IMO)!  I can definitely recommend this strap as a nice complement to the Seamaster Pros, although I have to admit I would never want to pay the $200+ that Omega charges for these (and didn't in my casethumbsup.gif).

Some pics...

That looks cool. I am a SS man when it involves a Seamaster BUT because it has Omega stamped on it....that seems to make it all good. I do not know why but it makes it right...maybe I am just odd.
Anyway looking good!!

I like it. From the pix of the caseback and lugs it seems to have a different fit than the knockoff I got for mine. It will be interesting to see once I get mine thanks to the enable from Chris! The rubber has made the 2254.50 my go to this summer though I do love the bracelet too and it'll get mounted soon enough...

Trent, Skip, Neo, and Mark....thank you guys for the kind words!!!!thankyou.gif

Neo and Mark - yes, agreed...really hard to improve on the excellent speedy ss bracelet that comes on the Seamaster Pros (and I really love that bracelet a whole lot!)...this rubber is a good summer option and good for extended times in the water.

Mark - will be interested in hearing how you like this one compared to the knockoff that you've had for a while...the ultra precise fit to the excellent lines of the Seamaster case makes this a real standout IMO...and no silicon means this strap is not a dust magnet at all.

Chris, I like that rubber strap a whole lot.

The design of the rectangular holes and spacing is very retro (think Isofrane rubber strap re-issues) and adds to the personality of your watchmy love.gif

CHRIS IM ENCOUNTERING THE SAME PROBLEM, MINE WONT FIT @ ALL

I monkeyed with mine for 1/2 hour and gave up. I'm thinking these are for PO lugs and I'm also not convinced these are OEM. I'm fairly certain if this were the proper strap it wouldn't be so damn near impossible. I went back to the soft stretchy silicon which has served me well all Summer.
