I own the DOXA 5000T & Andy had said DOXA would be making a rubber strap for this version.I recieved an email today stating that DOXA has decided not to make 1 for the 5000T so they sourced ISOFRANE for 1 in 22mm & 24mm. A little pricey but so was my 5000T http://www.isofrane.com/isofrane_strap.htm

the Jenny family that owns Doxa also owns Isoframe from what I have been told....so sourcing wasn't all that hard since Isoframe is now making a 22mm straight end ...dog smile.gif

Gotta love the Isofrane.

Just a heads up - I sent a message to the company two days ago asking if the company is making an ORANGE 24mm strap yet.

Sadly - the answer was no, but while looking around the site, I saw their new polished version of the original "squared" buckle I had on my old Ploprof. Looks kinda cool to me! I am holding off on this until I get an orange 24mm with brushed finish buckle (the original on my old Omega 600m Ploprof was brushed, so I guess its a no-brainer, really).

Stay tuned...

Cheers - IanM

Hi afc

To the best of my knowledge, Isofrane make only 22mm and 24mm straps.

"Tropic" straps (similar in look, but not identical in materials used) occasionally crop up on the secondary market -  those come in a 20mm and in various colours. Search out "Tropic strap" on the bay and see what hits. Keep in mind that Tropic straps are, in my experience, a litttle more "plasticky" than Isofrane or gel/rubber straps.

Possibility: why not notch a 24mm Isofrane strap if you think it will match and work well?

Good luck!

Cheers! IanM ThumbsUp02.gif

IanM, you're lucky they answered your email. I emailed them about 10 days ago and they haven't responded. Too bad.

Hey BRP! I send them messages that they respond to in hours...  max wait was one day. Is it a timezone thing? Am I special? Nah - just a persistent sender of messages if I get no responses. I know no-one in particular there, I have told them I am in for a blue and an orange strap. Last time I spoke I was advised that the other colours would be released in November 2010. Um - that's now.

I had an orange 24 on my old Ploprof 600 and miss it to death. I have been told that they are not consdidering a red strap. I wont wait to be contacted - I like to be pro-active! I have a coupla buckles incoming but of course the tongues are Isofrane-specific! Would love to see the new Ploppy 1200m on the orange Isofrane... but I am not interestd in being the first - I just want one!

Unrelated - have you seen that EM has released the "submarine"??  Now THAT is a big puppy... and fair dinkum the biggest tool watch I have ever seen excellent.gif. Too big for my girly appendages, but I know how you like 'em big - especially with the Omega engines!

Oh - and so as to not COMPLETELY hijack the thread - here ya go, afc - look at item number 360316604379 on the US bay, to see an 18mm version of what I have described. as the Tropic Sport strap ~ but check the gouge on postage (unless it stuck $50USD in there cos I am checking from Australia...)...!

Havagoodweekend fellas!

Cheers again!

Thanks, mate. Actually, I emailed them twice.crap.gif First on the link they sent me to my gmail address (which took me to WUS) and then on their sales@isofrane.com  Maybe they're just too busy. I was looking at 2 black straps (22mm with PVD retro buckle and 24mm on brushed retro, too) and like you, I might position for a 22 orange in 22.

Hope we both achieve our objectivesThumbsUp02.gif

Hold the tip of a hot soldering iron on the screw head for about 20-30secs, it should liquify the loctite.

Had to do the samething to my Prometheus Ocean Diver.
