Just got round to modding the 22mm Strap Culture leather band I bought for the CSAR. The bronze thread is now black thread. They don't do a black thread version so thought some might be interested to see what it looks like. I've also ordered in some new buckles to try out of this one.

Thanks Ted, yeah, it is. I'll post some pics on the CSAR when it arrives. It's being sent via Fedex Saturday from the US. Should get here Mon, Tues.

I've also just bought another black leather strap to try:

GIOVANNI e Figlio la Spezia (22mm in black)

Should be $249 but bought it unused from a private seller for $60 shipped! Couldn't resist that deal! Will mod it to black thread as always and pop it on the CSAR and see how it looks. Think it will also work well.

Super stealthy. I've done the same thing with red and orange Sharpies. I think the results are cool and your SC looks wicked!

Keep having fun with it!snoopy1.gif

The SC was nice but it didn't suit the CSAR. The Panny buckle was all wrong..mistake.gif Just sold it, actually. The Giovanni is nice but the buckle is/was chrome on the one I got and the sucker was sewn in!! After an hour with the hacksaw and pliers the darn thing was removed and replaced with a lovely matching brushed SS buckle was is far better with the CSAR. I'm pleased with that one now and will keep it.

I did, however, feel compelled to change out the feeble rubber strap as it's nice to wear rubber when I'm actually in the water or when it's hot out. After a lot of research I finally settled on this:

It's the new Hirsch Lance and while not cheap it looks awesome, it's airy and allows you to adjust the curved lugs right up against the watch case. That should work well on the CSAR, I think. Will see midweek next week when it arrives. Pics to come!

Here's a couple of shots of the CSAR on leather:

This was a $249 Giovanni strap that I picked up for $60. It had bronze/tan thread which I modded to black. The buckle was a sewn in polished SS and didn't look right at all with the CSAR. An hour with a hacksaw got rid of the buckle and it was replaced with a nice heavy brushed SS one from Germany, which I'm very pleased with. Thick 5mm strap but soft as butter and great to wear.

An hour hacksawing at a sewn in buckle?  you have more staying power and patience then I would have Duncan... but looks great with the new buckle.   Are  you still expecting that cool Hirsch?
