Today I recieved the Sea Angler Silver Surfer (43/50) I bought on a trade forum here in the Netherlands. It's a great watch and I'm really happy with it! I have one question however...

It has the the number and text "Swiss Made" engraved on the back, this text however is not printed on the dial.. I thought all Silver Surfer models had the Swiss Made text on the dial.. So I'm a bit confused :?

Can anyone shed a light on this?

Regards,

Stefan

Yea some of the Orsa SA's will have Swiss Made on the case back instead of the dial. The only one of mine with Swiss Made on the dial is the Orsa SA Lume. My Orsa 3T and Orangia do not have it on the dial either.

There are a few watch makers that do this with Swiss Made watches. ;)

Thanks Skipdawg, this really helps, is there any reason behind this difference?

Regards,

Stefan

Just depends on what the watch designer wants to do. My Korsbek Ocean Explorer has Swiss Made on the case back and not the dial. ;)

Thanks for all your answers, but I'm not looking for the differences between different Sea Angler models, but for the differences within the Silver Surfer model.

Some seem to have the text "SWISS MADE" printed on the dial, while others only have this text engraved on the caseback. I was wondering if there is anyone who knows what the idea is behind this.
Are there 50 Silver Surfers with the text on the front, and 50 with the text just on the back? Or are there variations within the 50 pieces included in this limited edtion? And why o why would Orsa do either of these things?

Thanks in advance,

Stefan

There is someone in a dilapidated factory in Singapore screaming at his staff:

"Damn it men... I told you to make an exact replica of the Silver Surfer... you morons forgot to put the Swiss Made mark on the frigin dial! Now we have to move up production of the Benarus Barracudas! Just make sure you don't forget to print 'Germany' on the bottom of the dial!"

(PS: Just some humor... there is no proof if inauthenticity here)
