Since I had nothing else to blow money on this week, I picked up a winder.

Can anyone clue me in as to what settings I'd want my Monstrum set to?

doesn't matter as a Miyota movement winds both ways....what kind of winder did you get....is it speed variable as well as directional like a Orbita winder?...the Orbita database has all the info you need and if you type that into the 3T search engine you will find it along with probably dozens of pages on winder discussions hand6.gif

I was given a winder from Brookstone as a gift.   Two watch winder.  Variable on both sides in speed and movement.

I not only tried search, but also the Orbita database BEFORE posting ;) as I do my best not to burden people with easily found answers since they are usually answered with a  response like "RTFM a$$hole" .

Orsa is not in there (Orbita database)and only one  Miyota movement is in there (82xx).  Orsa's website shows a Miyota 21 Jewel Movement, and does not specify the exact model.  I wanted to be clear as I did not know if these were the same thing.

As you can see from above, you guys weren't sure either.  It's nice that it shares the settings of my Orange Monster so I can just keep that side set for the two of them and teh other side for the Valjoux.

Since I could not find the answer by searching, I posted the question.  Thanks for your input.  This is not a RTFM thing, it is a "The Manual is Not Clear" thing.  I just didn't want to hurt the movement.

Thanks again everyone for your help.  I am just glad I didn't set it and go to sleep after oagaspar's first response (although I am sure one night would not have done much difference since we wear the watches with all sorts of body movement for days at a time).thankyou.gif

For anyone keeping score or interested, the Brookstone winder saga ended with me returning it.

It looked cool.  It spun the watches, but none of them stayed wound.  I had them all set correctly.  I even turned up teh volume to the next level on each of them after they lost so much time initially.

No biggie.  I just hope this helps someoen else in the future.
