i agree that a mechanical is different from a quartz but since the 2824 movements are impossible to get right now and that the sellita as not proven to be reliable ,  the only way to get some sea anglers on the market is a quartz , the price will be very interesting too , imagine , i could do a completely different dial !!! orange , yellow , mop.....

Here's a off-the-wall shot - how about using some Vostok movements, maybe even the 2426 31 jewel mvmt, add a hand and make it a GMT Sea Angler?

Berg said in his opening post that eta movements were not available(hard to get) and the sw200 is in the same boat...it's not a question of what movement to use or what we prefer but what is available that will fit the Sea Angler case....with that in mind Berg would like to make a Sea Angler using one of the 2 Ronda quartz movements available and it would be Swiss Made ...available in both Orange and Yellow dials and will be ready asap rather than wait who knows how long for eta or selitta movements to come available and not at the exagerated cost everyone is seeing....so if we had a choice of No Sea Angler at all opposed to getting a Swiss Made Ronda quartz version at a reasonable price what would the members of 3T and WIS in general prefer....I hope this enlightens everyonehand6.gif

Hi

Lets get another SEA ANGLER on the drawing board.

Quartz is better than nothing and Berg can always make

another model when the autos become more available.

All the Sea Anglers can be made SPECIAL.

also the quartz may make it easier for those of us with limited watch budgets

to get in on a TOP QUALITY DIVER.

JMHO

the sea angler is very popular , why not making a quartz version? , the price will be lower and the watch will be the same , i could make a orange and yellow dial.

Berg

Send me an invoice for a yellow dial 300M 715Li Sea Angler and I would pay it.

Berg - it seems that 3Ters are like most people out there - some form of Sea Angler is better than none! If the price is right, I think it will probably sell. And I might be tempted to buy one - for no reason other than to support your company for the good work it does, and the way you look after your clients.

I am not generally a fan of battery powered watches. Yes - we all know about those that are out there, but the cheap end of the battery-powered market is already serviced by some big brands.

My poll vote, but only because you asked for it, is yes. Selfishly, I would like an Li Black Sea Angler if it could be done cheaply (and what are you suggesting, Berg, a battery powered Sea Angler for less than the price of the Monstrum?). But I reckon the majority would probably like to see a non-chrono, Li version with some differences to the existing models so that the uninitiated and those who invested in the Sea Angler LE can distinguish between the automatics and the battery versions.

Just MHO!!! IanM

BIG YES for a quartz Sea Angler.  In fact, I would buy two right now, silver and yellow. The MOP is a GREAT idea, RED would be even better (not just because its mine) It sounds like im in for 4 now!!!....Not enough unique high quality quartz divers out there in my opinion. A Sea Angler would fit right in there with some of the big boy quartz divers. Big, bold, tough quartz diver at a fair price... Berg, quit reading this and GET TO WORK!!!!

I still much prefer an automatic over a quartz but I guess we will have to see what the price point is on a quartz Sea Angler.  Why won't the Miyota automatics fit in the Sea Angler case, if the case is essentially the same as the Monstrum?

I would however, go for a Quartz Sea Angler over a chrono Sea Angler regardless of movement.  Chronos just don't match with diver watches, and the extra hands just adds to the clutter, making the time harder to read.  The pushers also add another point where a seal can fail and water can get in.  Besides, who uses a chrono to time anything nowadays anyways?  Its more accurate to use the stopwatch on your cell phone.
