Kazimon is neither a micro brand, nor an Asian brand, but an independent watchmaker, manufacturing 100% Made in Germany watches in his own facility.

I couldn't agree more Oscar but I'm surprised that it still have to be mentioned here after those years...
July 2010 I was already stating in the arrival thread of my 1500 custom.
"For those who are not familiar with Kazimon's new creation, the 1500 is a 100% inhouse "Made in Germany" watch. Master Kenzo supervise the all making from a pure bloc of 316 steel and can proudly say that no component come from oversea's country."

I also can recall that it's a detail who been brought up regularly.
Since Kazim and me had regular dialogs when cooking this project, I had answers about components provenance:
Double dome sapphire crystal , gaskets, dial&hands was already all Made-in-Germany and this watch model except the movement, could present itself 100% German made, as also the first in-house case from the Kazimon workshop.
Previous cases was made by Fricker if I recall right.
There's a bunch of companies making them own cases who can't tell any of that as they outsource many components.
Crystals are often coming from Asia, even on known brands.
My 1500 is still among my top favorite watches simply because of it's low run(100 pieces) in S.steel case and it's unique feel.
I'm sure on my side, that if a lower price S.steel Nautilus2 would have been presented, people would have reacted differently.

It is not a watch I would buy, but purely on the ground that I honestly have not made my mind up where I stand on bronze watches.

Bearing in mind Kazim's reputation, I would think that if these are one-off 10 pieces, never to see the light of day again, the price tag is justified and, arguably, would even be justified if it was an ss watch.

I think the arguments pro/con have been healthy and respectful - as you would expect in 3T - and I sincerely hope that Kazim will continue to offer his watches through the forum. I have yet to pull the trigger on one of his creations!

Well stated Khronos, not sure why this thread turned in this direction. I am certain that none of the comments here were meant to be a personal attack on Kazim. He is a friend of this Forum. The information shared, gave valuable insight into his watch making and reputation, which is a help to all of us.

That said , I take offense to the notion that if someone holds a different opinion, they are in some way an uneducated watch enthusiast and clueless.

Buy what you want and enjoy the hobby.

Well, I never meant to be offensive or taking people for idiots Tony.
I also hope that you didn't feel targeted in any way.
Because from my side, I always thought that the regulars of the forum did know that Kazim was holding a high standard on his watches through self making and exclusively German parts.
This said, sorry if you misinterpreted my meanings.

Scott,I didn't buy my Kazimon 1500-b until I saw the amazing patina you developed on yours...it is still one of my favorites!ThumbsUp02.gif

You're not the first person (or second, or third...) to say this, maybe I've earned a Kazimon sponsorship! subtlelaugh.gif

The 1500b is one of my favorites too; always at the back of the line when its time to sell something.

I don't believe anyone aimed anything at you Gumba?
...this thread has been educational imho, and to further educate let's break it down to what started this all,"Price"...the price of the watch is 2290.euros,which to the euro community is a pretty fair price,it is only when broken down to dollars that some seem to believe it is high?
Kazim has nothing to do with the conversion rate, nor the suffering dollar to euro situation, and right now the euro is high,so why condemn him for this? In this hobby we need to look at it from a World position, and as far as rising costs for premium watches, well, we have seen them sky rocket over the years.Germany is one of the most expensive Countries to do business in,and the watch business is not exempt...shipping from Germany is expensive, taxes are high, and skilled labor is higher,so expect to pay more.

For me it's not the Euro who been strong lately: It's the Dollar who been weak in fact.
The Euro is around 7 Nok since the crisis(before it was 8 Nok) but the Dollar been falling lately and lays at around 5 Nok and it's kind of low because regulary it's more like 6-7 Nok for a $.
If Kazim would have lived in the US, I would have make a good deal in fact...

Guys, I did not take it personal. Just voiced an opinion, and want to keep this place open to various opinions and discussions, in a civil manner.
As we have seen much info has been given, and I believe this will be helpful to everyone.ThumbsUp02.gifThumbsUp02.gif

Unlucky for you but lucky for me since the Norwegian Krone been strong and stable lately.
That saved me many buks those last months...
Last year, when the $ was at the same level like the € is now, you would have pay 2300$ for this watch

Looking superb! Thanks for the shots Kazim. If one day I get to be converted to the bronze religion, I might regret this one...
