I think there is a obsession with fish in this forum!

Why not call this watch Ocean Obsession (double O)

If I had to chose from the two it would be Tarpon... bcuz...big and shinny is better than small and suckey.

However, I do think the name should reflect the watch...this one has a smoother styling than the Sea Devil and Barracuda, and has a Panny feel - therefore would suggest: Rondinella Di Mare (Dark Winged Flying Fish of the Med.) or Rondinella for short!

I'm really not bringing this up to complicate things or to make any request whatsoever of Ralf, but all weekend while the site was down I kept thinking about the line above.

Other than Marathon, some pilots, vintage Panerai and their clones, I can't think off the top of my head of any watches other than the Barracuda and incoming Sea Devil (and, presumably this new Benarus model) that DON'T have the model names on the watch. Maybe you veterans can think of some, but I can't.

I know I'm going to love my Sea Devil, but it makes me wonder -- would I love it even more if it came with the Sea Devil model name on it?

Seriously, just a rhetorical question that isn't asking anything of Ralf, but I was curious about what others think.

thankyou.gif Flathead and Snapper will be added

Shadow not because O7 has already a LM4 Shadow

No more suggestion please the poll starts soon

I have also removed Tigershark because there is already a watch company with this name

Provo because of the terroristic group

Megalodon because #3 is to small for this name

all other suggestions will be available  ( I hope I didn't forget one)

I agree with you. I was a little bummed when Debaufre took the "Triton" off the dial for their newer model. However, they do have the name incorporated in their caseback design.  Hopefully Benarus will get to a point where there are so many designs that even Ralf will have trouble remembering the model's name. :)

Truth be told, the caseback design is my favorite part of the watch--and the current design with the dolphins is very good. If the budget does not include new caseback designs, maybe the name could be put beside the serial number?  No deal breaker either way. I just believe the a cool caseback design adds a uniqueness to each watch, making the front and back a piece of art.

With that all said, the previous, the current, and the future line of Benarus watches are impressive and I look for many more in the near future.

Cheers,

Ryan

I didn't realize that. Guess I'm lucky to have gotten the first generation Triton.

Agree 100%.

So, you are saying that MORAY should be the name on account of the vote results? I have no problem with that...however, personally, I still like Wahoo as it is the fastest game fish in the sea, great eating, and distinctive with silvery sides blue & gray stripes.  I've seen my share of Moray Eels and they are quite vicious looking. Tarpon is a great game fish and the silver dial reminds me of a Tarpon.  Of course Ralf seems to have indicated his preference for Remora which is good too...particularly if you consider the concept of wrist-attachment as some what akin to a fish attaching itself to a shark, turtle, sunfish or whale.  Remoras are not technically considered a parasite because they are not invasive, and cause no harm to the host.  Some information suggests that the Remora removes parasites from the host.

Anyway, I've given this more thought, and I've decided (as if anyone cares) that the only name, the very best name is BONITA...also spelled Bonito

Bonita is a member of the Tuna and Mackerel family of fishes.  It is probably pound for pound the greatest fighting fish in the ocean.  A 6 - 8 pound Bonito can strip a 10 weight rod and bend it like a pretzel.  Bonita is a beautiful fish.

Bonita in Spanish and Portuguese means beautiful.  So, my fellow desk diving friends, fish aficionados, arm-chair watch designers, and devoted fans of BENARUS my final vote, if acceptable, is ...

BONITA = beautifulthanks Ralf

Sure Bonita is also a nice name and a interesting fish, but it is to late for the poll now.
3T members have suggested the names and they also gave their votes.
I seems like moray is the favorite and so it will be called Moray.
I still have enough ideas for other watches and all these need a name. It is just a question of time
;)
