I like the idea of removing a numeral and placing the logo in it's place.  My first instinct was to try removing the 12.  What do you think?

Now that I look at it more, I like the logo in the 12 spot.  The numbers are actually bolder than the logo, so this actually calms things down a touch in the dials bussiest area around the "BENARUS automatic" the 12 quadrant.

One last thing on putting the logo at the 12.  It's there because the Moray eats lunch at noon.  Just makes sense:)

Please feel free to remove this if not appropriate.

Great mock up... we just got 2 feet of snow in the mountains, so I will be skiing tomorrow and Sunday.

I like the medium shade of green.... and the logo at 12 is an improvement.

Got to add "CUSTOM" to the dial.

I still think the LOGO needs work... and hopefully, I can digitize something for you guys.  I appreciate the effort, and I am not being critical, but the current logo looks too much like a skeleton and not recognizable as a Moray.

I want to seriously thank Ralf for engaging in this forum, and encouraging input.... I am a member at several other watch forums, and trust me when I say this, I have yet to discover any watchmaker / designer quite as involved or as responsive as Ralf.

Jim

I liked going with the skeleton of the Eel head in the previous logo I posted for several reasons.  skeleton's are cool and have a old school pirate mystique to them.  Thought it fit the old school BR Green and design of the Moray.  Second, it could be identified only as a Moray skull by the fact that it is snatching up the fish, meaning aquatic animal, and it has a secondary set of jaws, unique Moray set up.  Kind of something a little more sophisticated.

The third reason is that I thought a line dwg of a moray head wouldn't be terribly appealing.  They just aren't the most attractive animal up close and personal by any means.  However, I thought I would give my hand at a line sketch and the results have some potential I think.

Please pardon the roughness of the sketch, as I did it quickly in photoshop using the brush tool and my laptops touch pad.  One of the more uncontrollable methods for artwork, but you can atleast get the idea.  Besides, maybe it gives it that electrified look:)

I'll try it some time soon with heavier lines.  Trouble is when you make it so small to fit on the dial you really lose the eyes and teeth with heavier lines.  Maybe I'll try to make a negative of the image and see what happens.

Maybe the best solution is filling the logo with lume, I like that idea.  You would still see the detail in silver, and lume would provide some nice weight to the area.

I haven't really seen images were the upper jaw protrudes over the lower.  They seem to be either even, or the oppisite.  That's why I thought the logo has the lower actually protuding a bit more.  Post a pic if you can so I can see what to change.

Oh, and I agree, having a place to give and share input like this is alot of fun.  Might even turn into a nicely crafted watch that has more personal value to the members here than other watches would.

Ah, the infamous GREEN MORAY EEL -- that should be the color of the new watch dial.   Now how about the watch dial is actually the very picture that you've shown.  There must be a technique for printing the dial in this manner... the dial could be black and the Eel could be green lume, with the details outlining the Eel and it's features in silver !

Now that would put BENARUS on the  world map !

I will start a poll next week that we can decide about the color
