I don't mind the vintage look at all since I will probably wear mine 'Panerai style' with a nice fat custom made strap.

I am unsure about the AMOUNT of texture. The texture definetly gives the dial some depth and makes it look 3 dimentional, but is appears the grains in the texture are so big that they are slightly disrupting the fine printing of the word 'Automatic' and the '500m' marking.

If you keep the dial finish, you may want to consider slightly increasing the font size so that the printing is clearer.

I am in for a PVD on Green, but I have to say the seafoam turned out better than I thought it would. A real winner.

Wow!  I think all of them look great!  I am very pleased with the textured vintage look, especially the Sea Foam..cool10.gif

Do all the dials have greenish tint to the Lume? I see the teal appears white in the top photo and greenish in the bottom, but I believe all dials are C3 and will have slight green tint in the daytime, Ralf is this correct?

These samples are Japanese lume with greenish/yellowish tint, here in the hotel more yellowish in the factory more greenish, probably depends on the light. I have ordered some other samples from a different dial factory to compare which is  better

Holy Mother of Magnificent Watch Design !  That's a compliment.  Seriously, the texture surface looks fantastic !  The blue dial and silver dials look incredible, beautiful !  Ralf, you are creating a look and a watch that in my opinion is comparable to watches that are many, many times the cost.

Hello!
first i present myself, i am Sergio from Spain and i have already preorder a green dialed moray :)...
I donĀ“t know if i like that vintage texture, sea foam one looks nice , but i am not sure about the black one, as "pallet spoon" says, probably it looks too texturized....but it is hard to make an opinion just from a couple of pics....
I would not touch the font, mark and number sizes, i  think the dials are absolutelly well proportioned hearteyes.gif

i agree w/ serser.. the proportions and font sizes are just right.. no need to clutter the dial with excessively large text.. the clean and simple look makes it.

now if i can justify a silver version. it looks fantastic!!!

cheers,
Q

also, if you get back from your computer about 10 feet, that is how the dial will look in reality, and at that distance the texture is pretty fine and not as bumpy as the macro 10X amplified photo looks. I alway love when the watch finally gets to me in the mail because it looks different, somehow smaller even at 45mm because I have been looking at photos of a 4 inch dial for the last few months.

Will the black dial be available with silver hands and red second, like the Sea Devil?

And I agree with the above statement, this is turning out to be a very exciting watch, looking like it should be much more expensive. hearteyes.gif

I think the dial texure looks great.  The lume color appears to be in that yellow/green area that a certain Italian maker uses on some of their historic submersibles.  I think it will look great on the black dials.

Hard to tell, but I wonder if it's too yellow for the seafoam and silver dials.  Seems like these would look best with white or pale green lume.  Just an opinion.

I've been on the fence with this one, but the more I see, the more I think I should hop on board the Moray train ThumbsUp02.gif

I am sure these are VERY preliminary... But as a Dial 1 fan and soon-to-be-owner, I noticed the dagger markers are not sharp and pointed at the tips. And the elongated 3, 6, 9 & 12 hour markers have one corner beveled slightly and the opposite is more 90 degrees... Not being critical, just an observation. I think they are coming along quite nicely!
