#99 Black dial checking in. Wearing it on rubber already and loving it.

Can't believe it got here so soon!

Also thinking I should have got a blue one as well.

#26 Blue/Brushed arrived today. I am keeping it on the bracelet for now. The look is striking. The overall quality and presence of the watch is *stupid* good. I mean, really ridiculously good of the money.

A few observations...

I took one link out of the bracelet and have a comfortably loose fit (I can slip one finger inside the bracelet while on my wrist). Guys with very large wrists may have a problem with this and need additional links.

The screw down crown is pretty rough. Hopefully it smoothes out with a little wear. It is not wonky like the Orasa Mostrum. It feels pretty solid -- just roughly finished.

The embossed logo on the storage case is a nice touch, and the case itself is very nice. I am assuming that the case should open with the strap compartments on top and the watch compartment on the bottom. If the logo is on "top" of the case, it opens in the opposite direction than what I just described.

This might seem like nit picking, but In my opinion, the engraving of the bezel markers is pretty pedestrian in comparison to the rest of the watch. Maybe it is a victim of over-delivering in so many other areas. But to my eye, the engraving could have been deeper and filled in better. The is nothing "wrong" per se, but the shallow engraving is a little off in comparison to the rest of the watch. Perhaps I am too used to the incredibly good bezels on my Orient Star 300m's which are my go-to divers.

My only regret is that i did not get more than one. The initial impression of the watch is very impressive. I probably would have wet myself when I first saw it, but that's hard to do when you have a stiffy. :-)

The pictures are rushed and the weather has been especially crappy (you living in Cary should know) so no good light. I think when the sun hits this dial it'll be insane.

Very happy right now.anodie.gif Will take more pictures when weather clears.

Cheers

Ryan

Fantastic watch, lovin' the yellow dial!  Congrats!!

BTW- How is that book?  I've read ABOUT it and the concept is very intriguing...

The book is pretty darn funny. It's got all these great illustrations peppered throughout the novel. The title alone had me hooked!

MINE HAS THE LOGO ON THE STRAP COMPARTMENTS SIDE. I SUSPECT YOURS IS A MISTAKE. PERHAPS RALF WOULD BE WILLING TO REPLACE.

I NOTICED THE SAME ON MINE. AND LIKE YOU SAY, IT'S NOT A MISTAKE, BUT A SMALL DETAIL THAT MAYBE DOESN'T MEASURE UP TO WATCH'S OTHER CHARACTERISTICS.

Were you expecting the iridescent quality of the blue dial? That really took me by surprise, in a totally positive way. I was just expecting a flat continuous tone. Wish I could capture it in a photo, but it's just not happening.

And I'm curious as to whether the same effect is present in the orange, yellow and black dials.
