How about a Mega midi ( about the same size as a 1km ) for the next watch from Benarus ?

Before I run to the hills, this is my thinking.

Because of the size of the Ralf and Steve are missing out on alot of sales.

I have a Mega 1, I think that its a OUTSTANDING watch, the best value, best fit

and finish watch that I own.

What do you think ??

David

Well.....probably I agree.
A little smaller Meg, with a different name of course, would be a great hit.....
...a bezel of around 44-45mm...
...and if t had many color variations for the dial I would definitely wanted to buy it.....

This is JMO but I'm not sure I  would agree with you, a smaller version of the same case would take away from Megalodon series, you can bet on Benarus coming out with new designs that will be equally impressive and unique in a smaller size watch.

Also, I really don't think they are missing out on any sales, they pretty much sold out the entire run of 150 watches for the Mega 2 in less than a week....there is a definite demand for these big watches.

I do agree though that another unique style in a 44mm size would be great.

I think the next Benarus should be called the Megamouth - named after the rarest shark in the world. Just like Benarus watches...they are few and far between (less than 200 pieces.) Additionally, the name fits in perfectly with the Diver series.

The Megamouth

The rarest shark in the world is the giant Megamouth Shark. Only 41 of the sharks have been found worldwide as of April 2009. Could be less than 200 worldwide.
Originally found in 1976 off of the coast of Oahu, Hawaii the Megamouth Shark is similar to the giant whale shark. The Megamouth shark is a filter feeder with a large mouth and is not believed to cause any threat to humans.

1st of all any smaller version of the Meg would be extremely expensive as it would have to be a ground up build all over again and like Nick said from the looks of things Benarus has not lost any sales over the size of the Meg from what I can see! :D.

.... the whole "Mega" theme has been done and done well by Benarus  imho.hand6.gif

+1. I think commercially, it would be a good move if Steve and Ralf just kept building on the Megalodon platform. It's a winner for me.:)

Yes Jeff, building on the Meg platform would be perfect. It thought about it in fact...
I would see the same case with a different bezel...
I had the idea of a slightly thicker and roundish bezel with circular cuts inside it: Like 5mm diameter half spheres cuted at 45 grades orientation of the bezel side, all around it offcourse (It would be a fantastic grip on that). And a similar sandwich dial with circular markers. It would remember the tentacles and suction cups of a giant squid and could be named Kraken or something like that;)

How about a titanium dive watch, ~44mm, but thinner and a little dressier than usual, maybe a see through back? Or even an aviator with a dive bezel?

I agree, William.hand6.gif I think I know what you mean on the  half spheres but maybe the suction cups would be a good application to the case itself. It would be hard to mill at small limited release voulmes but would be a good disguise for bumps and dings our watches get. Bezel side? Ok too and might be a better location than the case. hand6.gif
