Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm a complete novice when it comes to watches, having only owned whatever Timex or "brand X" was on sale at my local Target store. I'm not cheap but, like I tell my golfing buddies, I can afford to pay $2000 for a set of clubs but I can't afford the divorce that would follow! And so it would go with a Rolex or Omega unless I bought one for her too which would stretch the budget a bit! Now I know that names like Stauer and Steinhausen are frowned upon on these forums but their ubiquitous ads peaked my curiosity about inexpensive automatic watches and lead me here so I thank them. I've been blown away by the knowledge and have already learned a great deal by hanging out here. My first automatic arrived a few days ago...a Lucien Piccard "3 Eye" with day, date and 24 hr. sub-dials. SS, black dial with silver hands and arabic numbers. Luminous dots on the hands and over the numbers and a black leather strap with white stitching. Got it for $59 on Amazon ($89 less $30 for opening a new account). This is a very sharp watch that can dress up or down. As for the movement, it was a little slow at first but seems to be right on the money lately. Still only had it less than a week so I'll report back later. My second auto is on the way, an Alpha sport model, white dial with a brown leather strap, also with day, date and 24 hr. sub-dials. I'm hoping to make this one my "every day" watch. ($42.99 including postage!) I like what I've read about the Alpha brand and might even get one for my wife! Anyone own any of the ladies automatics, Alpha or other brand? Interested in your comments. Thanks again and I'll try to include some pics on my next post but I need to practice more with the macro settings on my camera. Mike cool10.gif
