I haven't heard about Oban. Now that you've mentioned it, I will seek it out.

Try using the most minimum of water in your drink. Even a 1.5 inch high portion will deliver a powerful wallop with just 2 to 3 drops of water. Best to use Perrier. Somehow that trapped fizz awakens all that malt flavor.
