Hi guys, not sure how many of you are using the Apple mobile devices....I've been an iPad guy since the first week the iPad one was released. Currently I'm utilizing the iPad in a way that Bill Gates never thought it would be used, as my main device for business, I don't even carry or use a laptop anymore. In addition to that I do not carry a paper notebook with me or a ink pen....I am 100% paperless.

As many of you know I travel extensively for my job throughout North America, last year I spent 225 days on the road and boarded 182 airplanes, taking the laptop and the weight associated with it out of my bag has been fantastic.

As attached to the iPad I am amazingly until a couple weeks ago I was still using a Droid phone, not anymore, purchased an iPhone 5 and am kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

So I thought I would start a thread here for us all to share the can't live without apps we use and some cool tips and tricks you have run across in using your iOS devices.

So I will start with some the apps I use that have allowed me to wean myself from the laptop.

GoodReader - absolutely could not live without it, was one of the first apps I installed on my iPad when I got it. This app allows you to create a file structure on you device to store documents right on your iPad ( have it on the iPhone now too). So documents you receive in emails can be opened in GoodReader and saved to a folder you create on your device. It can be any file type including Microsoft Office docs, PDF's (you can even edit PDF's in this App), photos, videos, etc. This App gives you access to these files wether you are connected or not. In addition it can automatically be synced to cloud storage products like DropBox, Box or even iCloud.

NoteTakerHD - is is the App that allowed me to stop using a paper notebook and ink pen. Finding the right App for this task was not easy, rob ably tried at least 4 other Apps before finding this one. On average I meet with 8 to 12 partners and customers every week, if I don't take good notes I would go crazy trying to remember what we discussed. It allows you to create a note and using a stylus write on the screen just like you were writing on a piece of paper. You then can save these notes into a file structure creating folders etc. how many times have you gone into a meeting and went into your notebook to view notes from a previous meeting to find out those notes were in your last notebook...never happens with this, I have over 2 years of notes at the finger tips whenever I need them.

Carbonite - this is kind of a sleeper App...even though I'm not carrying my laptop anymore there are still many files on it that I need occasionally. As you may know Carbonite is a cloud back-up product that automatically backs up any file on your PC or laptop that you add to it or modify with no user intervention. They have an App that can be installed on your mobile device (including Droid) that allows you to access your backups, browse the backup and download any file in that backup. Yes you can do this with DropBox too but fusing DB can get expensive if you have 10's of GBs of files on your PC or laptop...Carbonite is $50 per year.

One last App I use often for fun is iReSize - this is an App that allows you to very easily resize photos right on the iPad or iPhone, comes in really handy when you have a high res pic of a watch you want to post on 3T. It easily allow you to resize it and saves the original high res version too.

OK guys, I have tons more to share, lets see if we can get this thread going.

BTW, I am far from a geek, I'm just a software sales guy that has been able to figure out how best to do my job.
