One thing that is very important to extend your battery life on both the iPad and iPhone is to make sure apps you are not using are not running in the background...in other words turning apps off.

If you have never done this probably every app you have ever opened is still running in the background.

To do this first click the home button, the round button that faces you, two times. That will open every app that is running as an icon at the bottom of the screen. Hold your finger on one of the icons for a couple seconds and a red minus sign will appear in the top left corner of the icon, hit the minus sign with your finger and the app will close.

You can do this for all apps including email and calendar, those apps will kick right back on automatically with activity.

Thanks for the info above. I did not know that. Tried it on my iPad 4 and was shocked at all the apps running. mistake.gif

Apps I use a lot on my iPad are Goodreader, WeatherBug and Zite magazine. Zite is fantastic in that you tell it what you want to read and it finds articles for your interests. I use it everyday.
